‘Better Call Saul’ Season 2 Will be Totally Unpredictable, Says Showrunner!

Season 2 of the American crime drama TV series “Better Call Saul” is set to premiere on AMC on February 15, 2016. The premiere episode shall then be streamed on Netflix on the following day and the same thing will happen to the rest of the nine episodes of Season 2.

While the trailer, teaser, and hints of Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” indicate the eventual transformation of Jimmy McGill, played by Bob Odenkirk, into Saul Goodman, showrunner Peter Gould revealed in a recent interview that fans and viewers would not know when exactly will that happen.

In fact, it is possible that the transformation of Jimmy McGill to Saul Goodman may not happen during Season 2 at all.

In a recent interview, Gould said that Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” will be totally unpredictable. He explained that the biggest single decision they have made was to let Jimmy’s character create the spine of the show because they ended up with a show.

Went along for the ride

Gould explained that there were some episodes in Season 1 that were so dark and some that were also so light, but those episodes were right next to each other. It was a situation that actually scared them at first, but he is now happy that they proceeded anyway because the viewers decided to join them and went along with the ride, details the International Business Times of UK.

Like the many fans of the popular TV series, Peter Gould is also very excited for Season 2 of “Better Call Saul.” He said that they like Season 2 of the show a lot, now that filming has been completed a few weeks ago.

As far as spoilers for Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” are concerned, Gould hinted that the upcoming season will build on the decisions made by Jimmy and the other characters during the previous season.

He said that so much of what will happen in Season 2 is wrapped up in the DNA of the decisions of the show’s characters during Season 1. He said that it is one of the things that makes “Better Call Saul” feel like a united whole.

A glimpse of Saul?

Gould also said that Season 2 will also see Jimmy’s ability to bounce back being put to the test. He said that Jimmy is the kind of guy who always pulls himself back up every time he gets knocked down.

The show creator was also asked if viewers will finally get to see a glimpse of Saul Goodman in Season 2. Peter Gould said that Saul is like Jimmy in the sense that the former always searches for another way to get to his destination.

He added that Saul is distinct from Jimmy because he does not draw as many lines morally. Saul is willing to look at possibilities that Jimmy would not even consider.

In effect, Gould did not actually answer whether fans would see or get a glimpse already of Saul Goodman in Season 2.

But he did hint that when Jimmy becomes Saul, he would know what it means to be really bad because he will apparently have no limit to how bad he is going to be.

Meanwhile, Season 1 of “Better Call Saul” was nominated during the Primetime Emmy Awards a few months ago but it did not cop the award. However, the citations and nominations for the show seem to keep pouring.

The show was once again nominated for three Writers Guild of America Award categories for Best New Series, Best Drama Series, and Best Episodic Drama for one of its episodes during Season 1, notes the Lawyer Herald.

Better Call Saul Seson 2

Lead actor Bob Odenkirk has been nominated for Best Male Actor in the SAG and the Golden Globe Awards 2016 and critics believe that he has a good chance of winning at least one of the prestigious honors.

While every fan of the very popular TV show, that is the prequel to its critically-acclaimed and highly popular mother series “Breaking Bad,” knows that Jimmy McGill will eventually transition into becoming Saul Goodman, they don’t have the exact idea when and how it will happen.
