It looks like Rihanna is planning to give her fans the best Christmas gift this year. Reports say that the 27-year-old singer might drop her much-awaited album “Anti” on Christmas Day.
Digital Spy speculates that there’s a huge chance that Ri-Ri’s eighth studio album will hit record stores in time for Christmas Day.
The “Love The Way You Lie” singer had been teasing her fans with her upcoming album with a weekly clip through her Samsung-sponsored AntidiaRy campaign. The campaign is part of the Barbadian songstress’ preparation for her latest record.
It started on November 19 and was released weekly until December 18 through Ri-Ri’s Instagram page, but the latest installment broke the pattern and was released on December 21.
The latest clip, titled “The Gallery,” sees a feisty-looking Rihanna walking towards a face-off with herself, as she dances to the beat with her stylish backup dancers.
In the 15-second clip, the “Diamond” singer was dressed in an all-black ensemble with bold lips and eye makeup to match the death stare she gave.
As she continues to walk, the video cuts to another group of dancers, all dressed in black starting to follow her suit. It appears that the “Disturbia” hitmaker is their leader.
Before the video comes to a close, a light is shined on her face, but she still proceeded onto a solo platform while coming face-to-face with herself.
Once she’s standing in a zoomed-in version of herself, the digital Rihanna slowly blinks and the clip is cut.
Prior to the latest “Anti” teaser clip, the singer already debuted five additional clips, appearing to showcase different phases, the Daily Mail reports.
Her teaser, if connected, appears as if she is gearing up for war. The first few videos show Ri-Ri in transition to becoming fierce and then gathering her troops.
Reports say that the Grammy Award-winning singer is bound to release eight installments of teasers as part of the pre-release of “Anti.”
This means that fans are only two stages away from unlocking the “Umbrella” singer’s complete eighth album.
Fans are expecting Rihanna to upload the last two teasers possibly before her album is made available on December 25.
Christmas Day just happens to fall under a Friday this year, which is now the global release day for her new music.
This means that if indeed Rihanna will give “Anti” a Christmas Day release, then the album would even benefit from a full sales week.
Prior to the release of her sixth “Anti” teaser, Rihanna through her family and some friend a private bash.
E! Online reports that the main advisor for “The Voice” Season 9 dined and partied with her mom, family members and friends at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California. Reports say that Ri-Ri’s party was held in a private room with about 20 people.
Initially, the “Take a Bow” singer was to drop her album in time for this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show held last month in New York City. Rihanna was set to perform along with Selena Gomez and Canadian singer The Weeknd.
Unfortunately, the “Home” star had to cancel her performance for the VS Fashion Show just 10 days shy of the lingerie event saying her new music isn’t finished yet and she is not comfortable unveiling something half-done. British singer Ellie Goulding then replaced her in the fashion event.
“Anti” is the follow-up album to Rihanna’s seventh studio album “Unapologetic” released in 2012. The “S&M” singer first revealed to fans that she was working on a new album in October of last year.
She opened the year by releasing the first single of her “Anti” album titled “FourFiveSeconds” in which she collaborated with rapper Kanye West and iconic Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney.
