Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger attended the climate conference recently held in Paris, France and he immediately took to social media to post his position about the need for people to plan for their future and include clean energy on it.
The “Terminator” actor said he does not care what people think about climate change whether they agree with the scientific findings or not, but there lies an urgency for clean energy as the conference clearly cited that seven million people die every year from pollution.
Schwarzenegger used his Facebook account to express his sentiments and his goal of pushing for a clean energy future, reports Popular Science.
He said that the seven million deaths from pollution every year is more than the figures from murders, suicides, and car accidents combined.
The “Running Man” actor also posed a scenario where one would have to enter one of two sealed rooms for an hour. The first room contained a gas-powered car with the engine on; the second contained an electric car with the engine on.
The person would not be allowed to turn the car engine off or use a gas mask while in the room. He theorized that it is likely that everyone would choose door No. 2 because door No. 1 is obviously a fatal choice.
Schwarzenegger also said that fossil fuels like coal and oil are very limited so people should come up with a plan before those resources run out. He actually came up with two analogies on fossil fuels when he said that he does not want to be like the last horse and buggy salesman who was holding out as cars took over the roads. He also said that he does not want to be the last investor in Blockbuster as Netflix emerged.
The “Escape Plan” actor does not give a damn if people believe in climate change or not or whether they could not care less if they are concerned about temperatures rising or melting glaciers. He only wants to make sure that humanity works to make a smarter, cleaner, healthier, and more profitable energy future.
Be a vegetarian
Also on the same climate conference, Arnold Schwarzenegger recommended that people should have a vegetarian diet.
In an interview, he said that eating meat poses a threat to the environment although he said that it is unrealistic to give up cold turkey, which is the main staple during American Thanksgiving celebration, reports Aol.
He said that it is quite difficult to stop eating meat altogether because it is a very big challenge. The former Mr. Olympia made known his position against eating meat as he found out during the climate conference that farming actually accounts for 28% of the world’s carbon dioxide emissions.
Schwarzenegger suggested terminating meat and dairy, at least, one or two days to minimize the increasing levels of greenhouse gasses.
An action collection
Arnold Schwarzenegger may have plenty of time in his hands as of late as he managed to come up with a video clip of all the explosion features in all his movies a few months ago.
Arnold explained that the video was meant to show what he meant when he said that he blows shit up. He added that his team had to come up with some rules before coming up with the video.
Accordingly, explosions were counted frame by frame based on every instance of an actual explosion. He said that it includes repeated explosions as well as explosions within explosions, adding that explosions continued through an edit were only counted once.
Schwarzenegger said that an honest attempt was made to count every explosion based on such rules but in some cases, an educated guess was made.
The video was made to promote a contest where individuals can win a chance to blow shit up with Schwarzenegger himself, which in turn was made to promote Arnold’s After-School All-Stars charity.
A few months ago, Arnie also showed that he is not just protecting people, he is also lifting their spirits up in the best way he knows how.
Schwarzenegger showed up by surprise in Reddit, a public billboard, to boost the morale of a demoralized young weightlifter after experiencing a bad day at the gym.
The Austrian-born actor was a weightlifter himself when he was still younger and has in fact been honored as Mr. Olympia seven times during his weightlifting career before deciding to go into the movies.
