Rick and Morty Season 3: What Direction Could the Show Head in? Let’s See

“Rick and Morty” is no ordinary show, and that became obvious with just a few episodes. The writers behind the production obviously have some creative ideas and they have a lot that they want to tell their audience, and the show has been highly successful so far. At the same time, it’s very likely that they aren’t quite done with their unique, original ideas yet, and we’re just seeing the tip of the iceberg with the first two seasons.

Indeed, many fans of the show have high hopes for what season 3 might bring, and there are some strong expectations for the future of the show. Whether or not the producers will manage to keep up their original style and keep their fans happy like they have until now is hard to say, but they are not newcomers to their line of work and we expect that they would know what they need to do to maintain fan interest in the show right now.

Ever since season 2 ended, fans have been wondering what season 3 could bring, and what direction the show might head in next. “Rick and Morty” has not been afraid to explore some more controversial and unique topics, and that’s part of the reason for its success. The other part lies in its creative approach to storytelling, as the writers for the show really know how to take their plot through some interesting twists and turns, and they’ve been very successful at using the time available for each episode very adequately.

In fact, discussions on the Internet after each episode aired indicated that fans were consistently surprised by what they saw on the screen and the show managed to keep them at the edges of their seats throughout its two seasons. And while the first few episodes of season one started out more mildly and the show wasn’t that strong then, it quickly picked up and got to the point where every episode was utilizing the comedic potential of the characters to their fullest, and we kept seeing some amazing stories unfolding.

Throughout those first two seasons, the writers introduced many characters to the cast of the show, which raises the question of who is going to rescue Rick at the beginning of season 3. The way season 2 ended set up some obvious developments for the beginning of the next season, and it looks like Rick will have to count on one of his old acquaintances to get out of his situation.

It’s definitely not very clear who that would be though, and there are multiple possibilities. And when one considers the more creative approach that the writers of the show have to its storytelling, it becomes even more clear that the rescue of Rick is going to be an important plot point that will be presented in an interesting way. Some fans are even theorizing that help could come from some rather surprising sources, such as the evil version of Morty that we saw in one episode.

Whatever happens in season 3 though, the stakes are now higher than ever for the producers of the show. It can be argued that season 1 was more of a test and season 2 explored new concepts and solidified the style of the show, but now season 3 will have to continue the trends that were established in the past and keep up the style that the producers of the show have set up for it. And that might prove to be a bit more challenging.

  1. Alternate route: They do have the potential to simply start off with Rick already have been rescued, or pick up on another universe if they wanted to. Just don’t be too surprised if we don’t see Rick get out of his situation.
