The Motorola Moto G3 was launched in August and came with a price of $240. For its high-end specifications and features, the smartphone has obviously become one of the best value handsets in a very competitive market.
Despite being an already affordable smartphone, Motorola further slashed its price by $90 during the Black Friday sale event on November 27, which allowed consumers to purchase the third generation of the Moto G for only $150.
But it came as a limited offer only from Motorola as the deal was only good for four days. It ended on November 30. After the promo period, the price of the Motorola Moto G3 returns to $240, notes 3g of UK.
The Motorola Moto G3, which is also referred to as the Moto G (2015), features a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 screen resolution. It is surprisingly stylish yet it has a water and dust resistant shell.
It also sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, with possible expansion via a microSD card slot.
An evolutionary upgrade
The Motorola Moto G3 is an evolutionary upgrade over the first-generation Moto G as it took a massive leap forward, hardware-wise.
The 64-bit chipset and the available 2GB of RAM will most certainly make use of the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop mobile OS which the Moto G3 came with out of the box, cites GSM Arena.
In addition to being attractive for the current Moto G owners looking forward to the upgrade, the features of the Moto G3 enables it to capture an even wider audience of potential customers.
The Moto G3 is also one of the first major products that Motorola launched with Lenovo at the helm. From the outset, it would appear that the Chinese tech giant has kept the same winning formula that Google introduced during its tenure as an owner of the storied American tech company.
Motorola will further augment the retail distribution chain that the company has already set in place all over the world.
Putting lessons learned into good use
Having learned its lessons from the Moto G and the Moto G2, the 3rd Generation of the Moto G has turned it to good use by correcting all the flaws that the American tech company experienced with the first two models of the brand.
Compared to its chunky predecessor, the Moto G3 is quite refined. While its specifications are not much of a leap forward, but the build quality is quite excellent and the number of features has also been enhanced.
The Motorola Moto G3 also comes with two storage and RAM options. It has a model that comes with a 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage and a variant that features a RAM of 2GB and a 16GB of internal storage. But as expected, the bigger version is more expensive.
The Motorola Moto G3 is fast in both RAM versions. Web pages are loaded fast, and there is a minimal stutter. However, multi-tasking takes a hit, games, and applications are loaded much slower on the 1GB version, compared to the 2GB variant. Both the phones are easily able to handle the games on the Google Playstore.
The 3rd generation of the Moto G also comes with 2,470 mAH of battery and runs with stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. It also comes with a clean and simple UI to make Motorola’s features unique.
It cannot be simply described as a pure budget smartphone as it is more expensive than regular budget smartphones but the design of the Moto G3 is quite exquisite and its features and applications make it really worth its price.
It has been reported late in October that it will be the first in the smartphone line to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update before the end of this year.
