The Walking Dead Season 6 will have a Finale Worse than the Mid-Season Massacre at Alexandria, says Actor Andrew Lincoln!

Season 6 of the American holocaust horror survival drama TV series “The Walking Dead” goes into its mid-season break following the grisly episode 8 where a swarm of walkers was able to overrun the walls of Alexandria.

The walls, made up of galvanized G.I. sheets, gave way to the deluge of waiting walkers when a burned building collapsed and crashed onto it.

As expected, the result was gruesome as walkers feasted on the obviously surprised and still unprepared residents of Alexandria with the exception of the grizzled members of the group of Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, who knew how to take care of themselves.

It was another massacre at Alexandria, which came just weeks after the assault of the wolves on their place that left a lot of the residents dead.

If not for the timely arrival and help to come from Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham, the death toll would have included most of their friends. It also helped that the returning Glenn and Enid were close by to contribute to the attempts to fend off the rampaging walkers.

It was another mid-season finale to remember for “The Walking Dead.” Unlike last season when only Beth had to die, the Season 6 mid-season finale was a massacre by any metrics.

Darker Season 6 finale looms

But the mid-season massacre finale of Season 6 of “The Walking Dead” shall pale in comparison to its darker finale, discloses Andrew Lincoln.

Lincoln said that they have just completed filming for Season 6 of the TV series on November 28 and he was quoted in an ensuing interview that it is the darkest and most extraordinary season finale that they have ever done in the show thus far.

He added that to say that he is excited with the Season 6 finale would be a vast understatement. He also said that the TV series shall definitely end with a very big bang, refusing to divulge any specifics, notes Cinema Blend.

Fans of arguably the most popular series on TV at this time would actually find the hint of Lincoln as almost vague since “The Walking Dead” is already dark as it is now. Most of them could certainly not imagine how it can even go darker.

But it is not totally unexpected just the same since “The Walking Dead” is one of the few shows on television where the characters that viewers grow to like and love can die at any moment. Another one is “Game of Thrones” and that is probably the reason why they are two of the most popular shows on the small screens now.

There are reports that the big bad in the comic book series of “The Walking Dead” named Negan will also be making his way towards the second half of the TV show. However, there are also reports that actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan will assume the character of Orin, the leader of the Saviors, and will serve as the new big bad of Season 6. It is possible that instead of Negan, the character will be re-named as Orin on the TV series.

But these are just mere speculations at this time and shall only be known when “The Walking Dead” returns from its mid-season break on February 14, 2016.

Blowing the excitement

Meanwhile, an avid viewer of “The Walking Dead” thinks that the showrunners blew the excitement out of the incident involving Glenn and his miracle escape from the walkers.

After what happened during the episode 3 of “The Walking Dead” where Glenn, played by Steven Yeun, and Nicholas got trapped on top of a dumpster. Nicholas killed himself and took Glenn down with him as they fell into the mob of walkers. Since then, fans and viewers started theorizing that Glenn was still alive.

They believed that Glenn pulled himself under the dumpster and miraculously escape without a bite or a scratch.

But when the TV series segued on various plotlines other than Glenn for the next three episodes, fans started believing that Glenn is alive and that the showrunners were just holding it off to keep the excitement on his fate going.
