‘No Man’s Sky’ to Feature Over 18 Quintillion Worlds to Last a Gamer More than a Lifetime!

If there is one video game that has the biggest playing universe for gamers, it is no other than the upcoming adventure exploration survival video game “No Man’s Sky” due to hit the PlayStation 4 in June 2016.

“No Man’s Sky” features over 18 quintillion worlds that a gamer can actually play for the rest of his life without making any repeat visit to any one of them. In fact, even one lifetime would not be enough to explore all the worlds in the game, notes Australia Network News.

And the worlds are all different, indicative of the level of patience and painstaking work that game developer Hello Games has poured and continues to pour into the development of the game.

“No Man’s Sky” is an open universe game and it features an infinitely expanding galaxy of procedurally generated planets where players can fly seamlessly from the surface of a planet to another. Every star in the sky is a sun that players can visit.

Because of its immense number of worlds, the game reportedly encountered some complex issues that prompted the developer to delay the release of “No Man’s Sky,” leaving fans and gamers unhappy, notes MNR Daily.

But it seems that there will no longer be a delay in the release of “No Man’s Sky” because online retail giant Amazon already launched pre-orders for the PlayStation 4 exclusive with a release date of June 30, 2016 and a retail price of $59.99.

Sony’s trademark touch

As a PlayStation 4 exclusive, the touch of Sony on “No Man’s Sky” is very obvious. That is why the Japanese gaming company included the upcoming video game in its latest PlayStation Experience promo.

“No Man’s Sky” is one of the two video games that is included in the PlayStation Experience promo. The other is “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” which is also a PlayStation 4 exclusive upcoming role-playing video game.

Amid rumors that the game is having significant difficulties, Hello Games has assured fans and gamers that it is doing everything to work on the fixes and tweaks on the game so that it can release “No Man’s Sky” in June next year, problem-free.

In addition to featuring over 18 quintillion planets available for colonization by gamers, “No Man’s Sky” shall also introduce a unique brand of multi-player, wherein players will never really bump into each other because of the immense universe of the game.

Announcement of its official release date

Prior to the official announcement of Hello Games during the Paris Games Week, there were reports saying that “No Man’s Sky” would be released on October 27. Apparently, the rumors fell short as October 27 actually became the date when the release date of the game was announced and not the actual day of the game’s official unveiling.

“No Man’s Sky” was first announced in December 2013 so the heightened level of anticipation, excitement, and enthusiasm about it is no longer surprising at this time.

But given that the game was aiming to create literally the world’s biggest video game universe of all time, with practically an infinite amount of explorable solar systems and planets, a long development time was quite understandable.

However, two years in game development is an eternity, especially if the game developer is not in the league of Rockstar, EA, Bethesda, or Ubisoft, which have created successful strings of video game hits in the past. Hello Games is considered an upstart working on an extremely ambitious game, size-wise.

no man's sky

The developer released a brand new trailer of “No Man’s Sky” at the Paris Games Week titled “I’ve Seen Things” but it does not use the perfect “Blade Runner” voice over of the Tears in Rain Speech. It also featured attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.

Although Hello Games claims the latest trailer as brand new, it merely crafts a similar narrative. The footage appears to be exactly what was shown in December 2013. In other words, except for a bit of focus on combat, the new trailer hardly offered anything new to the widely-anticipating and enthusiastic fans of the game.
