2016 Chevrolet Camaro Simultaneously Launches in 48 States in the US!

American carmaker General Motors (GM) made history recently with the simultaneous launching of its 2016 Chevrolet Camaro across all 48 contiguous states in the US.

Numerous motoring journalists from the different states were able to test drive the muscle car over one drive route split into multiple legs. The journalists eventually posted photos of their respective adventures driving the 2016 Camaro on social media sites including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and YouTube, notes Forbes.

While the motoring journalists were not required to follow a prescribed route for test-driving the 2016 Camaro, GM created a points system which encouraged all of them to strike out on their own.

Each driver was given a debit credit to pay for food and gas as well as hotel accommodations. But it will be up to each of them to figure out how to traverse each leg until they finish the course.

As far as choice of 2016 Chevrolet Camaro models are concerned, it was based on the drawing of lots. So those who got the Camaro SS that is powered by the high-end 6.2-liter V8 engine got the instant advantage over the others.

As part of the marketing efforts of GM and Chevrolet, they also floated the hashtag #FindNewRoads on social media in the past few weeks, to ramp up its aggressive drive program for the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. The attempt to trend on social media was also complemented by advertising and promotional initiatives on newspapers, magazine, radio, and TV.

Based on the performance evaluation of the 2016 Camaro SS by the Forbes motoring writer, the muscle car has rapid acceleration, responsive handling, refined ride quality, and superb power. It is a model ideal for motorists who love combining a powerful car with long, unstructured road trips.

Comparable to the Mustang

As many motoring enthusiasts have noted, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro looks a lot like the upcoming 2016 Ford Mustang.

The design similarity has begun ever since Chevrolet re-introduced the Camaro back in 2009 and many experts referred to its collision course with the Ford Mustang as the Great Assimilation.

However, there is a common criticism on both vehicles, which some have referred to as the new ponies. Both cars exude noise typical with muscle cars. But it’s what users call as glorious noise. The good thing is that both can already be controlled in terms of the level of loudness. In the case of the Camaro for instance, noise can be controlled through the exhaust baffles, details Road and Track.

Despite the similarities, the Camaro’s edge over the Mustang, and every other muscle car is its superb interiors. The cabin of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is now an extension of the driver. The dashboard is beautifully executed, with upscale details such as temperature controls that have been integrated into the air-vent rims.

While plastic is everywhere in the cabin, the 2016 Camaro still feels luxurious and its MyLink infotainment display is just fantastic.

One of the most powerful and fastest cars this year

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro was developed under the GM Alpha platform, which was the same platform used by the Cadillac ATS. Compared to its predecessor variant, the 2016 Camaro is a bit smaller, a little faster, and a whole lot nimbler.

In fact, the 2016 Camaro is definitely one of the most powerful and fastest cars to be unveiled this year.

When GM released the official performance figures for the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, questions started arising from the minds of every muscle car enthusiast whether it is equal if not better than the upcoming 2016 Ford Mustang.

If there’s one advantage that the 2016 Camaro has over the 2016 Mustang, it is the fact that it got to the motoring retail markets early, giving it the headstart over the iconic muscle car from Ford.

It will take a few more months before the real head-to-head showdown between the 2016 Camaro and the 2016 Mustang will occur. The Camaro is already out in the market now with a price tag of $26,695 for turbo and $37,295 for the SS. Ford must thus hurry to get its Mustang ready in order to match or beat what Chevrolet is offering.
