Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie recently starred in “By the Sea”, a film which shows the couple in some sex scenes. And while one would think that filming such a scene would be easy for a couple of people who are already together, the two of them seem to have a different view on the matter, claiming that they actually found it very awkward and not at all enjoyable, and they apparently had to put a lot of effort to power through the whole ordeal, but in the end they got through it by just talking about how ridiculous the situation was.
Angelina Jolie claimed that filming this particular scene felt quite different from any other sex scenes she had done before, and it was not the same experience for her. However, the fact that she was doing it with someone she was already so close to only made things more awkward and that was the reason why the couple found it so challenging to get through this scene.
The nature of the scene was even more awkward, and she described how strange it felt for her to be sitting in a bathtub with a tablet and giving directions to her real life partner to come in and make love to her, all while being filmed by other people with cameras in the same room. It does sound like an awkward situation, and we can certainly imagine having to perform a sex scene with one’s partner in front of other people and how it can take its toll on a couple.
That’s probably why they saw it so differently from any other regular sex scene, as it required them to show their intimate moments to other people and that’s something that an actor doesn’t go through every day. We’ve already heard reports of actors having trouble in their relationships because their partners develop jealousy over certain scenes that they have to be involved in, but this must take things to a whole new level, and we can certainly imagine how it must have been strange for both Angelina Jolie and Brat Pitt.
But still, they are both veteran actors with a lot of experience behind them collectively, and it was to be expected that they would be able to handle this kind of scene with enough professionalism and the right kind of attitude. Furthermore, their actual performance in the scene was reportedly very good, according to rumors allegedly coming from the set, so they have obviously managed to retain their serious acting attitude throughout that ordeal and they didn’t give in to the embarrassing nature of their situation. Whether or not they would be willing to do that again at some point in the future is a different story, although we wouldn’t be surprised if they did get into a similar scene later on if it turned out that their fans liked the one they saw in “By the Sea”.
It’s early to say how well this film is going to perform in general, but we do expect it to enjoy a lot of attention from all sides of the audience, as there has been a lot of talk about it among fans of both actors, and it looks like many people are patiently waiting for it to release. Critics have been somewhat skeptical towards the film after the initial release, and they have pointed out various issues with it, although some have been more positive.
