‘Battlefield Hardline: Blackout’ to Bring Substantial Contents to the First-Person Shooter Game!

A new DLC will be coming to the first-person shooter video game “Battlefield Hardline” and it will not be part of the four scheduled DLC releases to come to the game before it turns one year from the date of its official release in March 2015.

Game publisher EA is set to roll out the “Battlefield Hardline: Blackout” DLC very soon, which is expected to bring substantial contents to the very popular video game.

The good news for gamers is the fact that while the four scheduled DLC releases are paid contents, “Battlefield Hardline: Blackout” DLC will come out for free. Developer Visceral Games will certainly blow gamer expectations out of the water as despite being free, the DLC will usher significant contents to the game, notes the Battlefield Hardline website.

Accordingly, the “Blackout” DLC will be included in the same download as the base game update, which is expected to bring a host of improvements as well as new items including maps, guns, and gadgets.

As its name implies, the central theme of the upcoming DLC is the cloak of darkness. It will be basically the same game, the same settings, and the same gameplay. The only difference is that the game switches to night mode when everything goes dark as the lights go out.

A night setting

The new DLC will come with two new maps called Night Job and Night Woods which is basically the transformed version of the Bank Job and Backwoods maps, respectively, in the regular game, notes VG 24/7.

Typical with nighttime operations for police work, one important gadget would really come handy – the night vision goggles, which shall also come with the DLC.

There will also be two new key weapons in the free DLC. The first weapon is a revamped version of the R0933 while the second weapon is the new Battle Rifle.

“Blackout” also brings to players of “Battlefield Hardline” new music, camouflage suits, positions and assignments, patches, and other stuff that are normally being purchased but already made free by the game developer. These are perhaps ways for both Visceral Games and EA to express its gratitude for the immense support and warm acceptance of fans and gamers on “Battlefield Hardline.”

The scheduled DLC releases

“Battlefield Hardline” was actually released on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC in March this year. Sometime in June, Visceral Games unravelled the game’s first ever DLC expansion pack titled “Criminal Activity.”

Visceral Games subsequently disclosed that “Criminal Activity” is the first of the four DLC expansion packs that it will be unveiling to gamers before the game turns one year in March next year.

In September, the game developer officially rolled out the “Robbery” second DLC expansion pack, which added more fun and excitement to the already satisfied gamers of “Battlefield Hardline.”
