Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Can Get Up to 13 Hours of Battery Life in Just 15 Minutes of Charging!

US carrier Verizon Wireless is scheduled to unveil the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 in its press event slated on October 27.

While the American smartphone company Motorola, which was already acquired by Chinese tech company Lenovo, has yet to make an official statement regarding its upcoming flagship smartphone, it looks like it has left the talking to Verizon Wireless, which has the exclusive rights to the smartphone in the US.

Leaks of the smartphone have been coming out in the internet since a couple of months back but lately, the information about Motorola Droid Turbo 2 is coming out more concrete and specific.

The Android Central got wind of an information sheet about what features stand out about the Motorola Droid Turbo 2, barely a week prior to its official launch.

In addition to the previously reported shatterproof screen and 48-hour battery life, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will also have a fast-charging capability. In fact, according to the leak, the smartphone can get as much as 13 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging. This means that fully-charging the phone only requires less than an hour to do so.

Another major feature of the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 is its expandable storage which can go as high as 2TB, which is by far, the biggest in the market today.

The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 shall also sport a 21-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera in front.

A glimpse of the smartphone

In order to put all leaks and rumors about the smartphone to an end, Verizon Wireless has officially released an 11-seconder video clip of the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 in its full back glory, cites the Android Community.

The footage shows the smartphone slowly falling on a concrete floor which hints that the smartphone is really shatterproof.

Since there is no official statement from either Motorola or Verizon regarding the shatterproof capability of the Motorola Droid Turbo 2, experts are assuming that the smartphone can handle accidental drops from a height of at least five feet. Of course, it will be a different story if one is to really smash the smartphone on the concrete floor or drop it on top of a building.

The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 is basically the US version of the Moto X Force which is also referred to as ‘Bounce,’ obviously referring to its feature of being shatterproof as it bounces like a rubber ball.

While Verizon has not revealed any official detail of its press event on October 27, those who are privy to the event revealed that in addition to the Motorola Droid Turbo 2, the US carrier will also unveil the Motorola Droid Maxx 2.

The last for the year

Save the best for last is what seems to be the mantra to be taken by Motorola for its upcoming release of the Motorola Droid Turbo 2, which shall be rebranded and called as Motorola Moto X Force when it comes out in the US retail market.

The Droid Turbo 2 shall actually complete the new smartphone roster of Motorola for 2015 and given its predecessor’s status as the flagship smartphone of the company, it is expected to take over the reign as the company’s latest flagship handset when it comes out next week.

Motorola has released three smartphones already in the last three months including the Moto X Style, the Moto X Play, and the Moto G3 or the Moto G 2015, and it is finishing everything off this year on a high note by releasing the continuation of the Droid Turbo series.

According to previous reports, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will be released in the European and Chinese markets in December.
