GTA 6 Rumors Are Ramping Up: Are Rockstar Possibly Planning the Game Already?

All rumors about “GTA 6” should be taken with a serious grain of salt and possibly even disregarded completely at the moment, but that hasn’t stopped fans from actively discussing the game and the possible implications that it might have for the franchise. It’s obvious that Rockstar are at least considering a sequel right now, looking at how popular “GTA 5” is and how it continues to gain popularity all the time, but the studio is also working hard on updating the game with new content that would make it hard for them to focus on any new major projects right now.

And yet, there are claims that the game is at least being actively planned, with some features already decided on and written in a major roadmap. Among those are apparently decisions on the game’s setting and location, protagonists, as well as minor gameplay features that the studio might want to give a try to.

With regards to the setting, we’ve heard various suggestions for where the game might take place, and some of them sound strange and hard to believe while others are more plausible. Rockstar are likely going to continue the tradition of placing the game in a fictional location styled after real-life cities, but it’s also possible that they might decide to go with a real location this time, reviving an old trend that hasn’t been seen in the franchise in a very long time.

On the other hand, the new game might also bring some interesting changes to the line-up of protagonists. It’s rumored that Rockstar want to preserve the idea of having multiple player characters, but they are also going to include a woman into the cast this time. Or at least they’re considering it as an option, but we don’t know if it will make it into the final game. There have also been rumors that the woman will actually be the sole character of the game and the studio is reverting back to their old style of having only one main character.

Last but not least, there could be some interesting new gameplay features thrown in for players to have fun with, such as allowing the player to get a job within the game’s world, giving them an opportunity to earn money and progress in a career path while also immersing themselves in the game’s world even more. We don’t know the exact implications of this idea, and it could have been just a random thought that isn’t actually going to find its way to the final release, but it’s definitely something worth thinking about.

Those rumors also point out that some of those jobs could be of the less legal kind, such as sending the player on a mission to take out a target. That could be a nice blend between the main missions that the player has to follow and mini side jobs that offer a nice boost to their performance.

All in all, it’s said that the studio is still juggling their ideas around and they’re more messing with their plans rather than trying to come up with any solid solutions for the game right now. That would be obvious seeing as how they are not going to release that title anytime soon, and the various predictions for its release date that we’re hearing paint a rather slow picture for its development.
