“Frozen” was a pretty big success, and it was a lighthearted film on the surface which still had its special, more unusual moments deep down and quickly drew many people with its lovely art style and fantastic story. After it came out, many people were eager to get a sequel and there was a lot of discussion about the possibility of this happening, but pretty much no official information was given out back then. That quickly changed with the official announcement that the film was in production, which immediately got fans very excited and revived the huge discussions about “Frozen 2”.
Now that we know the film is coming, the other big question is what it’s going to be about and what kinds of topics we might see explored in the new production. There have been reports that “Frozen 2” could be slightly darker than its predecessor, aiming to tell a story that more mature audiences would want to hear. At the same time, it will supposedly preserve the childish, lighthearted tone of the original to a large extent.

One of the ideas that are rumored to be getting explored in more detail in the new production is the topic of homosexuality, something that has been getting more and more attention in our modern society, as people are becoming more positive towards the idea and are treating it with an open mind. Sure, there are still some sentiments of negativity here and there, but for the most part the world has definitely improved in this regard and there is a lot more open discussion all around.
With that in mind, it wouldn’t be very surprising to see such an idea discussed in “Frozen 2”, and the rumor specifically says that Elsa is going to be the one to get in such a relationship, as she will “come out” as a lesbian in the new film. Other than that rumor though, we have no details on the situation and we have no idea who her relationship might be with, nor what it could involve in terms of romantic scenes between the characters.
It was already confirmed by the film’s director Chris Buck that the team is looking into exploring more sensitive themes in the new film, which lends some credibility to the rumor about homosexuality. Of course, “sensitive themes” is a very broad term that encompasses a lot, and it would be a bit hard to say if he means homosexuality or something completely different. There are various options to consider, but this is the one that has been mentioned most among these discussions.
