The Underworld movie franchise is pretty popular considering it will be releasing the fifth installment to it sometime next year. With that being said, there is a little bit of buzz online about the new movie. This week, it was announced that two new faces will appear on the fifth movie and that at least one of them will be a villain. Usually movies are not able to survive the dreaded “trilogy” title, but for Underworld that seems to be different.
The series started back in 2003 with Underworld and it centers around a vampire “death dealer” who is stuck in the middle of a major battle between the vampires and the Lycans. It was only three years later that the first sequel showed up, and over the next six years, the last two movies were released. It does appear that Underworld is on a release schedule that can be kept with the latest coming ou tin October of next year.
That would put four year between the newest and the most recent movie, but fans are unlikely to even notice. Actors that are cast in movies are changed up all of the time and when you have a movie franchise like this one, occasionally you bring on new talent to keep the story fresh and things like that. The latest addition comes by way of a male and female. Bradley James is going to be a villian according to one online source, while the female addition is going to be Lara Pulver. As of right now, her role is not known.
Bradley James is tasked to be taking on Kate Beckinsale’s Selene and Theo James’ David in the new movie. In the fifth installment to the Underworld series, David will be the main focus of the movie. It sounds like that is going to bring plenty of back story and maybe some new details about our favorite will come to light. For Underworld 5, the script will be whipped together by Cory Goodman. He has written for other popular movies like The Last Witch Hunter and Priest.
As previously mentioned, it is not known what Lara Pulver will be doing in the new movie, but it would not be too far to assume that she might play the love interest to Bradley James’ character. Pulver has had a hand in other big productions, most noteably the BBC Sherlock, Edge of Tomorrow and Language of a Broken Heart. Those characters are all very different so it is hard to figure out what she might be up to in Underworld 5. Filming for the new movie is set to begin very soon in Prague for a scheduled release in late 2016.
