Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice Getting Promotional Mileage from LexCorp’s New Operating System!

LexCorp, the company of Lex Luthor, is a fictitious entity straight out of the DC Cinematic Universe. It first came out in DC Comics featuring Superman before getting mentioned in the cartoon series that also features the Man of Steel.

Eventually, it was also mentioned in the two previous TV series about Superman – “Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” and “Smallville.”

The upcoming DC Comics movie “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” produced by Warner Bros will also feature Lex Luthor as the big bad, and with him comes the organization he represents LexCorp.

In the DC Cinematic Universe, LexCorp is second only to Wayne Enterprises in terms of company size and resources. Wayne Enterprises, as every DC Comics fan knows, is the corporate empire of Bruce Wayne, the alter ego of the Caped Crusader.

A different approach to promotions

Warner Bros appears to be using a new and distinctive approach to promoting “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” which will hit global cinemas on March 25, 2016.

Instead of just focusing on Batman, Superman, and all the other superheroes in the movie, Warner Bros has released a new trailer that features LexCorp and how its new operating system called Lex OS has gone viral, reports the International Business Times of Australia.

In fact, during the New York ComicCon 2015 held last week, LexCorp actually provided free Wi-Fi to the event venue which accordingly is a celebration of the success of Lex OS, regarded as the world’s most secure and private operating system.

To complete the make-believe campaign, Warner Bros also launched the LexCorp website which contains the company’s direction as well as its plans to provide the world’s people of a better tomorrow through its new operating system, which LexCorp says, is designed to showcase a new phase in electronic securities.

The LexCorp booth at the New York ComicCon 2015 also offered attendees a free charging device.

Recently, Warner Bros also published Fortune magazine’s interview with Lex Luthor, played in the movie by versatile actor Jesse Eisenberg. Of course, the interview and the article on Fortune magazine were just for the consumption of the movie and its fans and did not actually come out in a real issue of the reputable international business magazine.

In the article, Lex Luthor was described by Fortune as a 31-year-old wunderkind who transformed an aging petrochemical and heavy machinery company into a tech darling of the Fortune 500, which many in the business community refer to as a superhuman feat.

Lex also talked about his father’s legacy, his company’s rivalry with Wayne Enterprises, and LexCorp’s decision to work on military contracts. He said that taking on military contracts is a necessity because the world is now in the most dangerous point of time in all of human history. In justifying LexCorp’s position, Lex said that no civilization was ever conquered by having a strong military.

A labor of love

Meanwhile, “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” costume designer Michael Wilkinson said that his approach to creating the new costume designs for the characters of the movie are all a labor of love.

He said that the characters in the movie have been around for a long time so everyone is very passionate about them. He felt that he had to do his homework on the costumes and studied different designs of the costumes that have been released or shown in various media over the years.

From there, he worked with a few illustrators to create the costumes for the characters of “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” details the Parent Herald.

Wilkinson said that it also helped that Director Zack Snyder gave him a clear direction about what the costumes for the superheroes should be like in the movie. So as it turned out, every superhero in the upcoming film will debut a new variation of their costumes from those previously shown in the comics, on TV, or in past films.
