Motorola Moto 360 2nd Generation is the Best Android Wear Option in the Market Today!

After completing the customary one-year market cycle of its first smartwatch called the Moto 360, the Lenovo-owned Motorola launched last month the second generation of the smart wearable which is officially referred to as Moto 360 2nd Generation. But some also refer to it as the Motorola Moto 360 (2015) to differentiate it from the Moto 360 (2014).

When the first generation Motorola Moto 360 was launched in the market last year, it instantly made a big impact because it was introduced alongside Android Wear.

That’s in addition to the fact that the Moto 360 then was the most attractive smartwatch the world had seen. In fact, because of its appeal, the smartwatch actually held its spot near the top of the heap for many months because it actually looked like an actual watch.

That is in stark contrast to the other smart wearables out in the market then which looked more like mobile devices in a small package and attached to the wrist.

But the smartwatch also came with a couple of downsides including terrible battery life, occasional sluggish performance, and was considered far too large for those with svelte wrists, according to some users.

A great improvement

Motorola obviously picked up all the good points from the Moto 360 so when it officially unveiled the 2nd generation smartwatch last month, it came out as a great improvement from the previous version.

The Motorola Moto 360 2nd generation offered many improvements over its predecessor in many meaningful ways. In addition to improving the battery life, the hardware of the smart wearable is also better, and the design now more thoughtful.

The new smartwatch also comes with a host of customization options to meet one’s personal lifestyles and it is really one of the best options out there in the market for fans of Android Wear, although it is pricier compared to last year’s model, details Engadget.

Apparently, Motorola is now using Moto X-style personal customization on the all-new Moto 360. And one of its better improvements is the fact that it comes in three different sizes – two for men and one for women.

The Motorola Moto 360 2nd Gen is building on the success of its predecessor as one of the first Android Wear-powered smartwatches to hit the market. Its previous model drew the attention of smartwatch users because of its circular design, chamfered edges, and high-quality leather bands that the current model also took in.

Easy on the pocket

Compared to the Apple Watch, the Motorola Moto 360 2nd Generation is also very easy on the pocket as it is being retailed starting at $299. Although those who would like to customize their smartwatch via the Motorola Moto Maker website, they can actually get a fully customized gold version of the Motorola Moto 360 2nd Generation for as high as $450.

The Motorola Moto 360 2nd Generation has generated mixed responses with most people unhappy about its lack of app selection and bulkiness.

But some are still saying that it is an extremely functional and customizable smartwatch that exudes longevity, notes Tech Times.

In terms of the downsides of the current model of the Moto 360, experts believe that the Android Wear still needs some polishing and the smartwatch actually becomes less useful when the user already has an iPhone.

Other than the new smaller options, there has not been a dramatic change in the design of the Motorola Moto 360 2nd Generation from its predecessor model. But the new Moto 360 is lighter compared to its predecessor variant.

With its $299 price tag, the only major competition that the new Motorola Moto 360 has in the market today, price-wise that is, is the Huawei Watch, pegged at $349.
