NBA 2K15 Gamers May Be Hesitant to Upgrade to NBA 2K16 Because of Poor Reviews on MyCareer Mode on the Latest Game!

Gamers and critics alike have taken potshots on the MyCareer mode of the latest basketball simulation video game, the “NBA 2K16,” from 2K Sports when it officially rolled out to the PlayStation 4, the PlayStation 3, the Xbox One, the Xbox 360, and the PC on September 29.

Many are saying that Spike Lee’s approach on the MyCareer mode of “NBA 2K16” which he titled as “Livin’ Da Dream” has taken the fun out of having a playable character going through all kinds of stuff to either become a superstar NBA player or simply fade out in oblivion.

Instead of the free-flow narrative and cut-scenes, Lee has boxed everything in “Livin’ Da Dream” so gamers have no choice but to go through with the boxed-in approach through the designated playable character known as Frequency Vibration or Freq for short.

Freq already has his own backstory already in the MyCareer mode of “NBA 2K16” so the fun of creating one’s story and career have all been overrun, which only turned off a lot of gamers, notes The Verge.

In fact, it is for this reason that many gamers may actually decide to stick with playing “NBA 2K15” at least for the MyCareer mode because it simply is better than the current version made by critically-acclaimed writer, producer, and director Spike Lee.

While critics are not taking away the genius in Spike Lee for creating “Livin’ Da Dream,” they simply find it overbearing especially the part where the players have to watch its intro for a full six hours, which is good as watching three full-length films already.

However, once the NBA 2015-16 Season begins late this month, it is likely that gamers will start forgetting about the MyCareer mode and instead focused on the “NBA 2K16” league proper itself because that is where the major excitement of the basketball simulation game lies. That’s in addition to the fact that the league mirrors the video game itself so any player or team changes happening within the season in the actual league, “NBA 2K16” would likely follow suit soon enough.

One final push

Before the “NBA 2K16” officially rolled out to the gaming consoles and the PC late last month, 2K Sports gave the “NBA 2K15” one final push to gamers and fans of the “NBA 2K” games. Simply put, it does not want the “NBA 2K15” to go quietly into the night just like that.

Normally, basketball simulation games of 2K Sports last up to three to five years before gamers start considering playing the newer versions, particularly those who are new to the franchise.

But those who have been parts of the franchise for quite some time, they value the timeline of 2K Sports for its basketball simulation games because it is parallel to the current NBA season.

So if they continue to play “NBA 2K14” for instance even until this time, they would not be expecting any updates or the see the improvement in the level of skills of players like Stephen Curry or James Harden or Anthony Davis. These players came of age during the past season and thus, made the cover of “NBA 2K16.”

2K Sports decided to give “NBA 2K15” one final push among gamers before it stops providing an update to it now that “NBA 2K16” is officially out.

Last set of locker codes and cheats

The developer has made available last month a number of cheats and locker codes for “NBA 2K15” which enabled gamers to get as much as 6,000 Virtual Currency (VC) points, play using an ABA ball, new shoes, add skill points, unlock achievement of claiming 20 contracts, and get either a random prize or just a plain surprise, details the Franchise Herald.

2K Sports posted the locker codes on Twitter which also assured gamers that they will also get special points for “NBA 2K15” in line with the recently released “NBA 2K16.”

  1. I find 2k16 crazy good.. the story line even after the 1st year is done.. if ppl don’t like change and a different experience then they should just stick to 2k15 if they don’t like it.. problem solved

  2. You must learn how to resolve this problem right away before it’s too late.
Yes, indeed. Many game enthusiasts all over the world elect to build video gaming pc’s.

  3. 2k16 is garbage… When I got a quadruple double with pts steals blocks and Rebs with Chef Curry it made me go back to 2k15. Curry is good.. But should not be blocking Blake Griffins tomahawks.. I agree defensive improvements needed to be made but not this drastic.
