While speculations abound on various internet news sites that the sixth installment to the open world action-adventure video game franchise “Grand Theft Auto” will come out in 2018 at the earliest, an avid fan or a couple of avid fans of the game decided to make a head start on their own.
A gameplay trailer pretending to be for “Grand Theft Auto 6” has been making the rounds on the internet in the past couple of days. While it does catch some attention considering how some of the graphics really look authentic, the little details on the video clip reveal that it is fan-made and fake as fake can be, notes the Metro of UK.
Nonetheless, credit has to be given to the creators of the fake “GTA 6” trailer because it does look like some sort of next-gen graphics engine test or some live gameplay action footage.
However, some of the little details of the so-called “GTA 6” trailer were actually the giveaways why it is an obvious fake. For one, the logo is terrible to the point that right off the bat, it already spoils the illusion that it is authentic.
The trailer also spelled Rockstar’s name wrong so it does not require a rocket scientist to figure out right away that the supposed trailer did not come from Rockstar and is thus not authentic. Even the English in the video description is a bit awkward, leading many to conclude that the creators are not American or British or from any English-speaking country.
The finer points
However, the trailer has its finer points including its imagery. It is also kind of creative because it seems to be made as a follow-up to Vice City and that the other cities in the game including New York or Liberty City as well as one European city.
As for the real thing, Rockstar Games has just announced that it is not planning to roll out any DLC to its current game, the “GTA 5” and that the latest content that was rolled out was for “GTA Online.”
Reports are now rife that it is likely that the next major offering from Rockstar is the “GTA Online 2” which will happen around 2017 before the game developer finally gives its undivided attention on the development of the “GTA 6” on the following year.
The loudest rumors
Since “GTA 6” is just too far away, everything about the game is mere speculation at this time. However, the most interesting pieces of information from the rumors are the speculations that the game shall have a female protagonist.
According to reports, the female protagonist shall be voiced by actress Eva Mendez, and that there is a possibility that her real-life partner Ryan Gosling shall also voice the male protagonist in the game, notes the Christian Post.
Another interesting speculation about “GTA 6” is the chance for players and gamers to be cops instead of being criminal elements in the game, which have been drawing enthusiasm to many fans of the game as of late.
There are also reports that say that “GTA 6” will be very interactive and the gamer can absolutely go anywhere he wants.
Accordingly, it is possible for players in the upcoming “Grand Theft Auto 6” to scale a high-rise block of flats and enter the topmost apartment, rob it, and then base jump out of the window, or perhaps even from the very top of the building.
Rockstar Games has yet to make an official announcement or statement to confirm or deny these latest speculations so it should be taken with a fine grain of salt.
However, it is possible that these scenarios are just wishful thinking of some imaginative gamers as these features have not yet been taken on in previous editions of “Grand Theft Auto” video games.
Some critics also opine that incorporating such features would debunk the realism in the “GTA” video game franchise, which Rockstar appears to have constantly maintained over the years.
