There’s still quite a while before “Transformers 5” arrives, but fans of the franchise have already been actively discussing the possibilities for the new film and the new developments that we could see to the plot. It’s shaping up to be a very interesting film however, with various details to its plot that should keep fans glued to the screen and have them discussing the new events for some time.
One of the things we’ve recently heard is that the film might feature two separate storylines that occasionally meet up and twist around a little, but ultimately follow different paths. On the other hand, it’s also known that the film is going to feature a highly anticipated fight, between Optimus Prime and Unicron – and they will actually be fighting in space, to top it all off!
There are about two years to go before the film is ready for release, according to the current schedule, so a lot can still happen in the meantime. It does sound like these plot details have been pretty much finalized though, so we should see the idea with the two storylines implemented in one way or another. And of course, the scene with the fight as well – this is something that would actually disappoint many fans if it didn’t end up happening.
Fighting in space is the only way in which we could see Optimus Prime actually coming up against Unicron though, given the nature of Unicron himself. The writers could come up with some original way to put the two characters together, but we have no idea how they could pull that off without having Optimus fly out to meet his enemy in space.
That would be a very exciting fight to watch by all means, and it’s something that we’ve never seen on the screen before. It will likely go down as one of the most dramatic fights in cinema in general, as the sheer premise is a pretty serious food for thought for many fans. There are some obvious issues with the logistics of it all, but in the end, this is “Transformers” – sometimes the plausibility of everything has to be put in the background.
In other news, there have been various rumors about a possible spin-off after “Transformers 5” is released, focusing on Cybertron. This is just a rumor at this point, but it could address the fact that many fans of the franchise have been calling for an installment set entirely in space for some time now, and this film could end up revealing quite a lot about the origins of the Transformers.
That film could also dig even deeper in the Transformers, exploring their very creation and the details surrounding their existence. Because of this, the possibilities for such a spin-off are quite diverse and the producers can do a lot of things to approach this idea, so hopefully they’re going to at least consider it seriously for some time.
But there is certainly a lot of time until 2017 when “Transformers 5” is supposed to come out, and if this spin-off really is being planned, we are probably not going to get any information about it until then. Because of this, most fans have focused their discussions on the new “Transformers” right now, but many of them are still keeping one ear open for new rumors regarding possible spin-offs.
