Alien 5 Might Be in Trouble, According to Recent Statements by Ridley Scott, More Information!

There have been some strange developments about the latest “Alien 5”, and a statement made by Ridley Scott has been the source of slight worrying for some fans of the franchise. The director announced that he’s going to expand on the “Prometheus” franchise quite significantly and add three more films to it in the future, and in addition, he said that the next film he want to release is going to be called “Alien: Paradise Lost”.

Which, obviously, seems to have some negative implications for the work of Neill Blomkamp. If we’re understanding this correctly, Scott might be looking in the direction of merging the two franchises instead, and continuing “Prometheus” in a style reminiscent of what we already know from the “Alien” franchise.

Which, in turn, could be a pretty major disappointment to fans who have been waiting for a new “Alien” film for some time now. Especially after there were so many talks about the future of the “Alien” franchise before, and many fans were getting excited about the prospect of seeing the films go back to their roots. A new “Alien” film in the style of the first ones would have definitely done wonders for the popularity of the franchise as a whole, but we’re sure that Scott knows what he’s doing when it comes to promoting his work to the public and keeping in touch with his fanbase.

What’s the current situation with Neill Blomkamp and his own “Alien” film though? That’s the main question that is bothering many of the fans right now, as it seems like his project might be in trouble. If Scott is going to make films with the “Alien” name then he obviously wouldn’t want to have his work overlap with that of Blomkamp, so the latter might have to look for a new project soon if the conflicts aren’t resolved in a good way.

It’s true that many fans of the “Alien” franchise were curious to specifically see what Blomkamp was preparing for them and how he was planning to revisit the origins of the films, and after so much talk about how great the next “Alien” was going to turn out, it’s definitely a major disappointment to hear that the film might be canceled.

In any case, we’re going to see “Alien: Paradise Lost” in a couple of years, and there is a long time to go until then, so a lot can change on the scene. We’re likely going to hear very fast if the project by Neill Blomkamp gets scrapped, but we’re as hopeful as most fans that this isn’t going to be the case. There has to be a way to resolve this conflict without killing that idea, and Scott of all people should understand the importance of keeping the “Alien” franchise alive and exploring it with the right ideas. He seems determined to keep the name of the films alive for a while, that’s for sure.

For what it’s worth, Scott has been reassuring people that the “Alien 5” project is still underway and he’s attached to it like before, but that doesn’t necessarily have to mean anything. If he really is thinking about rearranging things and removing the project from his pipeline for the time being, he might not want to make that announcement straight away and we could very well hear about it in a few months instead.

  1. Ridley Scott is producing Blomkamp’s Alien film — I thought this was common knowledge ??

Neil Blomkamp is a terrible director, anyway. And if his Alien project *were* to be scrapped it may save the franchise further embarrassment.
