Angelina Jolie to Make a Netflix Movie Set During Cambodia’s Khmer Rouge Regime!

The last movie about Cambodia that drew worldwide recognition was “The Killing Fields” shown in 1984. It is a British drama film at the time of Democratic Kampuchea based on the real-life experiences of two journalists – Cambodian Dith Pran and American Sydney Schanberg. The film won eight BAFTA Awards and three Academy Awards.

Some 31 years later, Angelina Jolie will be making a film in Cambodia set during the regime of Khmer Rouge, based on the book “First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers,” cites Just Jared.

The movie will be shown in Netflix and also in Cambodia. As a proof of the support of the government to the movie, Angelina Jolie paid a courtesy call to the Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace on September 17 in Phnom Pen, Cambodia.

The 40-year-old Angelina Jolie and her husband Brad Pitt have a special connection to Cambodia as their son Maddox, 14, was born in the country.

A tomboy in the family

Speaking of the Jolie-Pitt family, nine-year-old Shiloh is fast becoming the third most-talked about member of their family, next to her mom and dad, because she is not a typical precocious girl.

She dresses like a tomboy and does not want to do things that normal or many little girls do. While many believe that she will outgrow her unique dressing habit, it has not.

There are even wild speculations going around that Shiloh is a transgender because of her peculiar dressing habit, but both Angelina and Brad refuse to dignify the rumors by even responding or commenting about it.

However, there are now reports that the couple is now getting very concerned about Shiloh’s preference for boys’ clothes that they have reportedly sought professional help for it. The little girl has been subjected to being bullied both at school and at home and both Brad and Angelina want to make sure that Shiloh is accepted by their other five children for who she is.

Initially, Brad thought that it was not serious and that there are just some girls who normally pass through the so-called tomboy phase that would come to pass. But when Shiloh started preferring to be called as John Jolie-Pitt by her siblings, the actor knew that it was already getting serious, details the Inquisitr.

But the report actually emanated from an interview with Angelina Jolie way back in 2008 by Oprah Winfrey when the actress disclosed that their little Shiloh wanted to be called Peter or John. She defended it then when she explained that their little girl was into “Peter Pan” at that time and that is why she was saying those kinds of things.

Gender identity still in question?

Seven years after disclosing that John and Peter anecdote on national TV about Shiloh, Angelina Jolie has yet to refer to her daughter using a male pronoun.

But leave it to the media to speculate because now reports are saying that the Jolie-Pitt couple should let Shiloh decide for herself what she wants to be as far as gender is concerned because only she can know and determine her own gender identity.

However, given her age, she has no obligation to tell anything to the world at this time and only time will tell what she wants to be in the near future. Considering the kind of persons Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are, it is almost sure that they would accept their daughter, whatever she wishes to be.
