Jared Leto may have taken on the role of The Joker in his next two movies for Warner Bros showing next year – “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Suicide Squad” – but he does not joke often when it comes to his music and the music industry.
But he is certainly updated on the goings on as well as the future plans of some, if not many of his colleagues in the music industry.
During the two-day iHeartRadio Music Festival held on September 17 to 18, a number of A-list music artists performed before the crowd at the MGM Grand Arena including the likes of Sam Smith, Demi Lovato, Coldplay, Kanye West, among other big name music makers.
But before each artist performs, they are introduced by equally popular celebrities. Kanye West was given the honor to deliver the event’s closing remarks, but it was Jared Leto who was tasked to introduce him, details Gossip Cop.
The Oscar winner and frontman of the 30 Seconds to Mars band described Kanye West as a visionary, artist, madman, musician, producer, provocateur, designer, director, innovator, husband, father, and finally, referring to him as maybe the future president of the United States of America, which drew the oohs and ahhs from the crowd.
Jared Leto was apparently aware of Kanye West’s presidential ambitions. During his performance of his rap “Only One,” West added 2020 at the end of the lyrics, which is the year for the next presidential election in the US after next year’s election.
The rapper-husband of Kim Kardashian unexpectedly announced that he was planning to run for president in 2020 at the end of his MTV Video Music Awards speech last month, where Jared Leto happens to be around too.
Although it is not clear at that point whether he was serious or just joking but it appears that the thought is still playing on his mind as of this time.
Showing off his toned body
Early this month, Jared Leto was spotted having lunch at Hugo’s Tacos on September 6 at Studio City in California.
He showed off his well-toned body after stepping out of the restaurant, sporting a pink hair which he debuted at the MTV Video Music Awards late in August.
The 43-year-old actor and musician was with rock climber Sasha DiGiulian for the lunch. Witnesses said that while Jared Leto was at the table, he was seen looking at his phone and had a wide-eyed reaction to something he saw, details Just Jared.
Jared as a different The Joker character
With filming for the two DC movies “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Suicide Squad” already completed, the astute movie observers are now dissecting the plotlines and the characters for the upcoming films based on DC comics.
“Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” will hit theaters on March 25, 2016, while “Suicide Squad” has a playdate on global cinemas on August 5, 2016.
The first film is expected to become the first blockbuster of 2016 and it would be interesting to see if the DC superhero movie has what it takes to up the Marvel superhero movies, which has been making a whole lot of money in the box-office for the last couple of years.
One of the most anticipated and very juicy character portrayal being awaited in the two movies is the role of The Joker by Oscar-winning actor and musician Jared Leto. The method actor has been drawing praises for his take on the Clown Prince of Crime that some of the cast members of “Suicide Squad” got scared of him as he seemed to have taken his character to a whole new dimension.
Jared Leto’s The Joker character will have a cameo appearance in “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” based on the full-length trailer of the movie shown during the ComicCon 2015 in July at San Diego, California.
