Various changes are planned for the upcoming sixth season of “Game of Thrones”, and it’s clear that the producers are not planning to let this show go anytime soon. In fact, they’ve been ramping up some of the features that made it so prominent in the first place, and because of this, fans can probably expect an even more exciting and dramatic new season full of developments that will make them question everything they’ve seen so far.
Various new additions are coming to the new season too, not just in the way of plot developments but actual cast members and characters too – Essie Davis has recently been reported to have joined the cast, and her role will be in a stage play that will be depicted within the show itself. The play, titled “The Bloody Hand”, will have many allusions to the actual plot of the show that surrounds it, and it looks like the producers are trying to find clever ways to break the fourth wall.
It should be quite the interesting development, that’s for sure, as the show definitely has a lot of potential for inside humor and references to its own storyline, and it’s not like the producers have been shying away from those ideas previously anyway.
We don’t know if Essie Davis will have any other function in the plot other than as an actress in this play, although it’s possible that the producers have brought her on just for this specific role. Of course, there might be some peculiar developments with this play that we don’t know about which could make her a bit more important in the plot for this season, but it’s too early to speculate on her character right now.
Jon Snow is another part of the plot that many fans are interested in, and all this attention surrounding his character has also brought up the ratings of the show quite a bit. It’s obvious that the writers have managed to create quite the strong cliffhanger with his fate at the end of season 5, but while most people have accepted his death at this point and don’t expect to see him return, others are not so convinced.
We don’t know if he’s coming back or not, but it would not be out of the question to see a dramatic return for him, especially if the writers have something more special planned for his character in the future. He could be a major plot element in season 6 if they wanted to utilize his death more strongly.
It’s not like the death scene itself didn’t already have a strong impact on the community, but now the producers have a chance to do something even more with his character and truly make people remember him long after the show is over. Some have been looking to the books for hints, but of course “Game of Thrones” takes a lot of creative liberty with its plot compared to the original books.
There are also reportedly some conflicts behind the scenes within the show’s cast, as some people are not very fond of the explicit sexuality depicted in “Game of Thrones” as a whole. Emilia Clarke has recently claimed that she will not go topless for a sex scene in the show, and she has actually been somewhat disgusted at the easygoing portrayal of sexuality on “Game of Thrones”, refusing to take part in it herself.
