‘Persona 5’ Exact Release Date to be Finally Known at the Tokyo Game Show 2015!

Game developer Atlus will be officially launching in Japan the highly-anticipated role-playing game “Persona 5” in the press conference before the Tokyo Game Show 2015 slated on September 17 to 20.

The Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia (SCEJA) has set a press conference two days before the Tokyo Game Show 2015 where it is expected to announce the exact release date of “Persona 5” in Japan and also in North America and Europe on the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 3.

There shall no longer be a delay this time around unlike in the SCEJA press conference last year where Atlus took it as an opportunity to announce the delay in the launching of “Persona 5.”

In addition to “Persona 5,” Yibada reported that Atlus will also launch the new game “Odin Sphere Leifhrasir,” which is a collaborative undertaking between the company and Vanillaware. The game will be released in January 2016.

Marketing material for the game

“Persona 5” is really all set for launching in Japan as an extremely stylish poster about the game has already been released in Japanese video game retail stores representing the game’s first marketing material, notes Gaming Bolt.

The poster was initially posted on Twitter by Japanese store Genki but has been deleted since. The original tweet also came with an announcement that said that from September 17 to September 19, “Persona 5: Pursue the Phantom Thief Party” campaign shall go into effect.

Gamers are requested to report their findings of the “Phantom Thief Party” by coming to video gaming stores.

The SCEJA press conference shall also delve more on the details of the marketing campaign for “Persona 5” which is meant to drumbeat the game all the more to existing gamers and also to new ones.

“Persona 5” comes nearly two years after the release of “Persona 4” which is why gamers have been anxiously waiting for it for quite a long while and they are finally seeing the end of the tunnel once Atlus makes the formal announcement about the exact release date of the game on the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 3 before the end of the year.

Hint of launching and rollout

Atlus did not make any official statement or announcement regarding the launching and eventual rollout of “Persona 5” on the PlayStation consoles, but the company’s very enthusiastic PR team apparently hinted it in recent interviews.

“Persona 5” is the sixth installment of the role-playing game from the Megumi Tensei franchise and its announcement on the SCEJA press conference will focus on the details of its official release to the retail markets in Japan, North America, and Europe.

Previous reports have indicated that “Persona 5” would indeed be launched and released in Japan this year, but it is unlikely that the game will make it to other retail markets outside of its home country in Asia before the end of the year.

However, John Hardin, Atlus USA PR manager, is insistent in a recent interview that “Persona 5” will hit video game shelves in the Western shores before the end of 2015.

Aside from Japan, “Persona 5” actually has majority of its gamers based in North America and Europe and as such, Atlus is really under pressure to release the video game on those markets once it officially unveils the game in Japan.

“Persona 5” was first announced alongside several “Persona” spin-off titles like “Persona 4: Dancing All Night,” “Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth,” and the PlayStation 3 reboot of “Persona 4 Arena Ultimax” back in 2013.

The game was initially scheduled to be released for PlayStation 3 during the winter season of 2014, but an announcement during last year’s SCEJA press conference revealed that the release date has been changed to include a PlayStation 4 version sometime in late 2015.
