After five and a half years of suspense and mystery, it appears that the American teen drama mystery-thriller “Pretty Little Liars” will tone down on the scare and the fright and focus on romance as it heads to the episode finale of the second half of its Season 6.
Showrunner Marlene King confirmed that the finale of Season 6B will be full of romance in her recent post on Twitter when she tweeted that filming for the episode has the most romance that the show had in a finale for the first time.
Naturally, King’s tweet had avid fans of the popular TV series speculating on which couples in “Pretty Little Liars” will be at the centerpiece of the episode finale of Season 6B, which will premiere on the ABC Family in January next year, notes Yibada.
Many fans believe that the romance might be between Spencer, played by Troian Bellisario, and Toby, played by Keegan Allen, because their relationship appears to be the strongest in the TV series.
However, a teaser from ABC also showed that Hanna, played by Ashley Bensons, wearing what seems to be an engagement ring. It also heightened speculations that it is going to be Hanna who will bask in romance as Marlene King also confirmed that Hanna will be engaged in Season 6B. But the executive producer also added that the engagement does not imply that she will be the one who shall be getting married in the finale episode.
Rumors have been going around that Hanna could be linked to a new character named Jordan, who is a professional working in the fashion industry.
It can be recalled that Season 6A of “Pretty Little Liars” ended on a high for Hanna, Spencer, Aria, played by Lucy Hale, and Emily, played by Shay Mitchell.
Aria was preparing to leave for an internship in Los Angeles while Ezra, played by Ian Harding, also showed his ticket ready to fly to L.A. But it turned out that it was just a connecting flight to Thailand.
The suspense will still be there
The finale episode of Season 6B may be full or romance and love but the rest of the episodes of “Pretty Little Liars” from its premiere in January next year will still carry the traditional suspense plot. After all, the show is a mystery-thriller TV series and executive producer Marlene King would not want to deviate from their bread-and-butter.
While the mystery of ‘Big A’ is all over, it looks like the Liars will be back in a familiar scary place in Season 6B.
King dropped the clue when she posted a video on Instagram showing a neon sign of the Lost Woods Resort. The clip shows the lights of the neon sign are flickering giving fans a spooky feeling yet again and the motel has vacancy too. The showrunner captioned the video with déjà vu or not as if to say that a portion of Season 6B has been filmed in the motel, notes the International Business Times.
It could be remembered that the motel was introduced in Season 2 and was also used in Seasons 3 and 4. The Liars visited the Lost Woods Resort after discovering the postcard marked Room 1 in a bag of Alison’s belongings.
The girls then decided to check into the same room, which is located just outside of Rosewood, in order to do some sleuthing. It was in the Lost Woods Resort that they discovered that Alison did stay at the hotel using her alias, Vivian Darkbloom.
Spencer then returned to the motel with just Mona, played by Janel Parrish and discovered that Room 2 had been rented out by ‘A’ the whole time. The room was full of pictures of the Liars, along with dolls and other things to track and monitor the girls. It was then that Mona revealed herself to Spencer that she was ‘A.’
During Season 6A, viewers ultimately discovered that Cece Drake, played by Vanessa Ray, stole the ‘A’ cloak from Mona and took over.
