“Castle” has been around for a while, and on one hand the show has already established certain ideas about its setup that are pretty solidified, but on the other, it keeps evolving and exploring new directions as the producers are trying to find new ways to keep the show fresh and exciting. And it’s definitely the kind of show that’s open to various new developments, so it’s probably safe to assume that it will be around for a while if its producers want to keep it fresh and keep developing new ideas for it.
Various things are coming up for season 8 of the show and it looks like it will be quite the exciting set of episodes with regards to the development of certain characters. On one hand, we’re going to see some new characters introduced, and on the other, some of the previous characters are going to have their personalities explored in more detail and some will be put in new relationships with each other.
There will be a mysterious new character introduced in the very first episode of the season, someone who will kidnap Kate and trigger a chain reaction that will make for quite the explosive episode. Some of the show’s fans – and critics – have pointed out that this sounds like a reversal of what we saw in the premiere of the last season, as Castle will now find himself searching for Kate and trying to figure out what happened to her.
The episode sounds like it’s going to be very intense and full of action, which is not that strange for “Castle” to begin with, but it does seem like the producers are trying to really get their fans on their toes and make them guess what’s going to happen next. We don’t yet know who that mysterious new character is going to be, but the most prominent rumors claim that it will be a major political figure, further complicating the situation and putting everyone in a very tough spot.
On the other hand, Castle will find himself forging some new professional relationships, particularly with Hayley Shipton. The relationship between the two of them will be played out in a very interesting way, according to previews, as there will be a significant clash in the way they both see and do things, and the characters will find themselves disagreeing over a lot, yet at the same time working quite nicely with each other.
Alexi Hawley actually stated that this is meant to be a short break from the usual pace and structure of the show, and it’s going to introduce some new ideas to the setup that fans aren’t that used to. It sounds like it’s going to be an interesting spectacle to watch, and according to some of the discussions on fan messaging boards, some people would actually be interested in seeing this kind of relationship continue for longer during the show’s run instead of being used as a temporary break from its standard style.
However, we don’t know if that’s the plan or not, but the producers do give the implication that they are looking into some more drastic changes for the show’s overall presentation in season 8. Which would make sense, considering that “Castle” has been around for a while and the show could get a bit stale if it keeps sticking to the same ideas that it started out with.
