‘Big Hero 7’ May Get a Release Date Anytime from 2017 to 2019!

The sequel to the 2014 surprise animated hit “Big Hero 6” will likely have a playdate on theaters anytime from 2017 to 2019 if Marvel Studios will stick with its own hectic timeline and certainly loaded production schedules.

It was actually Marvel Comic Book creator Stan Lee who said in a previous interview that “Big Hero 7” will be released after the “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” but before the “Inhumans.”

“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” already has a May 2017 playdate while the “Inhumans” is likely to get a playdate of 2019. Given these release dates, then it follows that “Big Hero 7” could come out in cinemas from June 2017 up to 2019.

However, these are just mere speculation at this time and until Disney and Marvel Studios make the confirmation, the timeline mentioned should be taken with a grain of salt.

Good to go

Meanwhile, Japanese toymaker Bandai has released a bundle of new dark painted toys from “Big Hero 6” which means that “Big Hero 7” is really good as go, notes The Bit Bag.

It has been said that the movie will have an appearance at the Japan D23 Expo slated in November and shall also feature the grim, black-colored action figures of all characters from the franchise.

However, it could also mean that the dark colored toys may also mean a new cartoon series is in the works to quench the anticipation of “Big Hero 7” fans while waiting for the next big thing to hit the cinemas.

It is quite noticeable that all action figures from Baymax to Fred are painted with heavy black hues, perhaps insinuating that the sequel to “Big Hero 6” may have a dark tone, consistent with earlier reports.

Focus on Tadashi’s return

According to the Christian Post, the sequel shall still feature main leads Baymax and Hiro Hamada, voiced by Ryan Potter, but the storyline shall focus on Tadashi Hamada, voiced by Daniel Henney.

Tadashi is likely to become the villain Sunfire and he will battle against the Big Hero 6 because he lost his human memories when he nearly died in the fire during the science expo shown in “Big Hero 6.”

The movie was one of the highest-grossing animated films after posting $521 million box-office haul worldwide last year. It also earned a nomination for Best Animated Feature Film in the upcoming Academy Awards.

Directors Don Hall and Chris Williams said that they felt that they just finished “Big Hero 6” and were still exhausted from the ordeal of making it. They added that they love the characters in the film and the thought of working with them again certainly appealed to both of them.

Meanwhile, Disney pulled a major surprise to fans of the upcoming sequel of the 2014’s surprise animated hit “Big Hero 6” during the D23 Expo held at Anaheim, California on August 14 to 16 when it featured the highly-anticipated crossover role-playing game “Kingdom Hearts 3” featuring two Baymax and Hiro Hamada in its concept art.

Game developer Square Enix has confirmed during the event that Baymax, the adorable health-care companion of protagonist Hiro Hamada, will be joining Sora in “Kingdom Hearts 3,” and will officially become the first glimpse of “Big Hero 7” movie which has been officially greenlit by Disney early this year.

“Kingdom Hearts 3” producer Shinji Hashimoto showed a concept art at the D23 Expo showing Sora atop Baymax back and they are fighting against a Dark Baymax, the one who was left in the portal.

Hashimoto said that the gameplay story will take place after the events of “Big Hero 6.” It can be recalled that Baymax was left in the portal when Hiro and his team attempted to rescue the daughter of the professor.
