FIFA 16 and PES 2016 Will Force Gamers to Make a Tough Choice!

The gaming industry has its own rivalries much like other industries. Just like Coca-Cola and Pepsi, various gaming franchises are commonly pitted against each other by their fans. “Call of Duty” is commonly compared to “Battlefield”, “League of Legends” competes against “Dota 2”, and in the sports genre, we have one of the longest-running rivalries between “FIFA” and “PES”. Both are highly respected titles in the football world, and they both have their own unique approach to the genre that makes it worth giving each of them a chance. And now, with the latest installments in both franchises, the battle just became even more fierce.

Both games are coming out with great sequels and fans have apparently found themselves in a difficult situation trying to figure out which one they want to play – and this surprisingly includes fans on both sides. It’s rare to see people attached to one gaming franchise admitting that they see something good in their rival one, but now this is exactly what’s happening with both “FIFA 16” and “PES 2016”.

In both cases, the developers have been putting effort into addressing the issues that have been plaguing their respective titles for some time now. On one hand, we have EA dealing with the gameplay polish in “FIFA”, adding even more interesting gameplay elements and smoothing out the overall experience.

On the other, “PES” has commonly been criticized for looking inferior to “FIFA” and offering poorer graphics quality (at least by some fans), and now it looks like the latest installment is coming out with the intention to address this specific issue.

Right now, we have something quite spectacular on both sides, with two games that look like they’re both offering a very in-depth, diverse football experience with high visual fidelity. The developers have been taking advantage of the better hardware capabilities that they have access to now too, and they’ve been putting effort into improving the diversity in both their titles.

As a result, players can now fine-tune their gameplay experience in order to create the exact kinds of matches that they want to see, and they’re no longer limited by the restrictions that were in place before. Match customization is actually a pretty major point in “FIFA” now, and players will reportedly get to experience even some more unusual types of matches. There’s something for everyone in there, from what we’ve been able to tell.

And while “PES” has the advantage of having its new installment released earlier this time, EA seem quite confident that their own game is still going to come out on top despite being late to the party. Of course, we know quite well that an early release date is absolutely no guarantee for a game’s success so EA are probably right to not be afraid of “PES”, as long as they have something up their sleeve that’s good enough to draw attention away from the game. Of course, things can easily turn out different, but we’ll have to wait and see.

FIFA 16

It’s definitely noticeable that companies in this genre are trying as hard as they can to utilize the capabilities of modern hardware to its full potential. There’s a lot of potential benefit for sports games in the way hardware has advanced over the years, and a football game can now show a lot more than it was able to before, while also making its animations smooth, responsive and fluid.

  1. PES will always be a safer option because they priorities gameplay over everything else , hence their success will be sustainable , FIFA will be FIFA, their priorities are skewed and their games will be good and bad without sustainable success , PES only fumbled because of transition from ps2-ps3 but such leap into ps4 isn’t so steap.. But FIFA have no real issues because even if they make a poor game , the fanbase is too strong
as the game even comes with buying a console !! Talk about publicity !
So if PES is on par with FIFA , given FIFA’s popularity , to hold both games in same level means then it automatically makes PES the better game . imo

  2. Just played both demos. Liking the fluidity of passing and movement more in PES which I abandoned for FIFA a few years back.

  3. Pes for me this year demo is fantastic. Ppl will still buy FIFA, but only those who either refuse to try out the pes demo or FIFA for hards IMO

  4. I jumped on the Pes bandwagon last year and haven’t jumped off…that awesome gameplay is something EA will never achieve. Pes is the superior football game, imo!

  5. I have got FIFA since 05 edition and will still get 16 this year but after trying pes 16 demo I will also get pes this year, so gonna play both because I wanna try the revamped master league, I love the offline modes and also want to play career mode on FIFA :)
