Game developer Rocksteady Studios has just released the latest DLC for the action-adventure video game “Batman: Arkham Knight” for both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One gaming consoles which enables players to control four playable characters including Batman, Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman.
While the developer was busy working on the new costumes for the game on the current-generation gaming consoles, it appears to be concentrating as well on the development of the patch for the PC version of the game.
When “Batman: Arkham Knight” was released on June 23, gamers on Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 enjoyed it more as the PC version was full of bugs prompting Rocksteady Studios, and game publisher Warner Bros Interactive to pull the plug on the variant of the game on the PC, cites Games Radar.
Subsequently, both the developer and the publisher announced that they will be re-launching the PC version of “Batman: Arkham Knight” in the fall this year.
Players of “Batman: Arkham Knight” on the gaming consoles will be able to enjoy the new character skins as they take on a series of AR missions, reports Yibada.
Other updates and PC version re-launch
The latest DLC for “Batman: Arkham Knight” titled “Crime Fighter Challenges Pack” also comes with the ‘GCPD Lockdown,’ the Tumbler Batmobile from Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” trilogy as well as Batman’s first costume in the “Arkham Asylum” video game.
Warner Bros Interactive also said that Rocksteady Studios is still developing new DLC skins for “Batman: Arkham Knight” which will become available for download very soon.
These new character skins include Red Hood’s superhero persona, the Damien Wayne Robin, Batman Justice, Batman Hush, and Batman of Zurr-En-Arrh.
While new PC copies of “Batman: Arkham Knight” are still not being sold on Valve’s digital store, those who have previously bought the PC version of the game should now have access to a patch that fixes some of the video game’s very glaring issues.
The PC patch has apparently made the game more stable even as it added graphics customization options to the menu.
With the new customization options, players can now set their maximum frames per second, change texture filtering, toggle motion blur and the film grain effects, and turn off chromatic aberration, which is another term for manipulating colors along the edge of the screen to make it blurry.
Obviously, there are still a lot of things to be done on the PC version of the game, but it seems that Rocksteady Studios is on target for the fall re-launch of “Batman: Arkham Knight.”
Temporary relief
It was actually someone from Warner Bros Interactive who leaked the patch made by the developer on the PC version of “Batman: Arkham Knight” and it looks as if the update gave gamers what they wished for.
However, it turns out that the patch update for the PC version of the game was just a temporary measure as Warner Bros Interactive subsequently released another update that replaced the latter and caused major crash issues for PC users that are downloading it.
Now, it seems that Rocksteady Studios need to work doubly hard to ensure that the re-launch of the PC version of “Batman: Arkham Knight” would not be as disappointing as it was in June.
“Batman: Arkham Knight” is a video game based on the franchise’s long-running comic book mythology. It is set one year after the event of “Batman: Arkham City” released in 2011. The game’s main storyline follows the Caped Crusader as he confronts the Scarecrow, who has launched an attack on Gotham City, causing widespread panic and city-wide evacuation.
Aided by the mysterious Arkham Knight, Scarecrow unites Batman’s greatest foes in a plot to finally put an end to the Caped Crusader.
