Mr. Robot Keeps Gaining Viewers, Show Is One of TV’s Current Hidden Gems, And More

Ratings of “Mr. Robot” have been okay, although the show could certainly use a lot more popularity for what it offers – but thankfully, recent reports indicate that it’s been moving up quite well in the rankings, and it’s been getting the kind of attention that it deserves. While many people were initially skeptical of the premise and some described it as “cheesy” in online discussions, it’s quite clear now that the show is very unique and offers a lot to its fans that they would never get from another production on TV at the moment.

One of the more interesting points about the show for its fans has been the presence of Christian Slater in the cast. The actor has seen his fair share of experience with TV, but many of his fans seemed convinced that his place was on the big screen and he didn’t work out so well on television. Various productions have taken him on board, only to end up getting cancelled afterwards, and at some point the situation got so ridiculous that people were actually accusing Slater himself of being responsible.

He even found his way to animation in “Archer”, where his character actually got a lot of positive attention and many fans claimed that he added a lot to the premise of the show. But now, his role in “Mr. Robot” is something that he was absolutely meant to do, according to most of the show’s fans. Slater has been delivering an excellent performance in the show, with the perfect combination between cunning and suspicious, and his role as a hacker on “Mr. Robot” has been going quite smoothly so far.

Something else that the show regularly gets praise for is its approach to realism, particularly when it comes to its environments and the current state of the world. This isn’t a show that’s afraid to reference the things that are happening around us right now, and viewers with a more politically-minded approach to their shows are definitely going to enjoy the way some events are depicted.

Environments are also given a lot of attention in “Mr. Robot”, and New York in particular has been designed in a very captivating, true to life way that has reportedly struck many of the show’s fans who have actually lived in the city.

Above all though, it’s a show that can easily connect to a large part of its potential audience because it makes some great references to its “natural habitat” – the Internet. Nerdy viewers who have a knack for programming humor have been loving the various jokes spread throughout the episodes, and there seems to be a lot of attention to those details among the writing team.

This is in contrast to shows like “Scorpion” which have been described as laughable in the way they describe the Internet and the process of hacking (despite “Scorpion” in particular being semi-based on real-life events), and the subject of hacking has been a sore topic in Hollywood and on TV in general.

Last but definitely not least, “Mr. Robot” has been praised for the writers’ ability to take well-calculated risks when it comes to advancing the plot. They’re no strangers to the idea of introducing sudden plot twists that leave everyone scratching their heads, and even though those events could have ended in disaster on a few occasions, they have been handling the plot very well so far and have kept all of their fans actively engaged and interested.
