‘The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes’ Themed Nintendo 3DS to Also Feature Improved Gaming System Design!

Nintendo has announced that the latest version of its action-adventure “The Legend of Zelda” video game officially called “The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes” is to be launched on the 3DS in October.

However, to further spice things up for avid Nintendo gamers, the Japanese gaming company is also releasing a special edition “The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes” themed 3DS console at $239.99. The system itself is worth $199.99 while the thematic design will cost an additional $40, details Gamezone.

But the theme will not just be mere aesthetics as apart from having a gold cover with the Hylian shield as staples of the franchise, the themed 3DS system will include additional features including improved face tracking, a second stick to control the game’s camera, and a quicker processor contributing to improved gaming system design.

It is expected that the “The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes” themed 3DS will also be hitting the US gaming retail markets in October. The system will come with the standard AR cards but those who don’t own a 3DS system, they would need to buy an AC adapter separately to charge the device.

Remaking a famous level of the game

Nintendo pulled a surprise recently when it showed a remake of one of the famous levels of “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” in ultra-HD using Unreal 4 Engine, the new graphics rendering software engine that has inspired plenty of incredibly life-like simulations.

When it was launched in 1998 on the Nintendo 64, “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” became one of the most important titles in video game history, according to Popular Science.

“The Legend of Zelda” coded in the Unreal 4 Engine brings clarity to the classic water stage which featured Zora’s Domain.

Created by Michael Eurek, the footage of the improved level of “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” gives fans a virtual tour of the many levels of Zora’s world. But ironically, Link, Zelda, and the other popular Hyrule characters were not shown at all.

Those who have seen and managed to see and play the recreated level of “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” were one in saying that the modified level looks really gorgeous to behold.

The key is in the engine

Unreal engine is the graphics software behind the hit video games like “Assassin’s Creed,” “Batman Arkham City,” and “Mass Effect.” The fourth version of the Unreal engine is the latest yet the most high-powered variant of them all.

While Nintendo games are rarely known for their graphic prowess, the videos shown by Eurek on Vimeo details how Unreal 4 pushed every last pixel of “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” to the limit.

But the 17-year-old “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” game on Nintendo 64, is not the first to have been given the Unreal 4 engine treatment. Nintendo has improved the visuals on the following games including “Mario,” “Sonic,” and “Pokemon.”

With the improved gameplay because of the Unreal 4 engine, fans are hoping that the Japanese gaming company will finally be able to release high-resolution video games with its upcoming gaming console, simply called as the Nintendo NX.

legend of zelda

Meanwhile, Nintendo announced the action-adventure video game ‘The Legend of Zelda’ on Wii U as early as June last year during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2014. Back then, the consensus among gamers was that the Japanese gaming company would roll out the game this year.

Unfortunately, more than one year, after the game was officially announced, “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U, has yet to be released and it is unlikely to happen within the year too.
