Sherlock has been on the air for a few years now and one thing that is a little different compared to other shows is the fact that there are long delays in between seasons. Not that the fans are very happy about it, but that is something that has stood out over the last few years. Before each new season starts, however, the fans are treated to a special episode and that is going to happen this year as well.
According to online sources, Sherlock Season 4 is going to have a special episode before it starts and the sources are wondering what type of character we will see from Sherlock. This episode will be set in the Victorian era and will apparently have a few treats for the fans as well. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are going to be traveling back in time for this episode and according to the co-showrunner, it is all about seeing them in the proper outfits just one time.
Just because the backdrop is going to be different some were wondering if that means the characters might be a little different. Well, according to at least one online source, Sherlock will be nicer. According to those familiar with the show, Sherlock is going to be “more polished” during that episode and will be less rude and more of a gentleman. Some fans think the reason the show is so popular is because of the “brattish” character that Sherlock is in the show.
Taking that away from the fans could potentially backfire. For some fans, watching an episode of Sherlock over the last few seasons would not have been as much fun without his rude attitude towards everyone. Even if this is just for one episode, it could turn fans away. While at the same time, it could bring fans a little closer to the character as they see a new side of him knowing he will go back to what he was in the last three seasons of the show. The special is something completely different from the actual season.
With that being said, fans should not have to worry that their favorite character is getting a makeover that will turn them away from the show for good. As things stand right now, Sherlock Season 4 is set to hit the airwaves at some point next year. The filming is not even going to start until the early part of 2016, according to the co-showrunner. Since the show hit the television screens all over the country, Sherlock has been getting very positive reviews. All of the first three seasons saw positive reviews with critical acclaim from various publications.

I found this series quite by accident and fell in love with it immediately. I told my son about it again and again, and he finally watched an episode. And was hooked immediately. His wife as well. Three episodes seems scant, but they’re about 90 minutes long, which makes them like a mini movie, the dialogue is fantastic, the chemistry between the two main characters – and in fact, all the characters – is nearly palpable, the stories interesting and fun….there is nothing – I repeat, nothing! – to dislike about this series. Other than the fact that there are only 3 episodes. But I’ll take what I can get.
BBC is kicking our butts over here in the states when it comes to quality programming. Check out MI-5 and Strike Back, available on Amazon, for fabulous series production.
