‘NCIS’ Season 13 to See Agent DiNozzo and CIA Officer Teague Getting Payback from The Calling for Attack on Gibbs, More Details

The Season 12 finale of the American police procedural drama TV series “NCIS” on CBS saw NCIS leader Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Mark Harmon, getting shot twice by The Calling’s young recruit Luke – one on the leg and one on the chest.

After actor Mark Harmon signed for the full Season 13 of “NCIS,” fans of the show were assured that Gibbs will survive his near-death dilemma.

According to executive producer Gary Glasberg, the show will pick up where Season 12 finale left off and as such, almost half of the premiere episode of Season 13 when it returns to CBS on September 22 will focus on Gibbs being taken to a Navy hospital ship and undergoing operations.

Based on the show’s trailer released recently by CBS, Gibbs will even be hallucinating about his dead daughter while everybody in the NCIS team led by Special Agent Anthony ‘Tony’ DiNozzo, played by Michael Weatherly, scamper to ensure that their boss survives the ordeal, as he is taken to surgery, notes the International Business Times of UK.

It has been previously rumored that actor Jon Cryer will return to the series as Dr. Cyril Taft and he will be the one operating on Gibbs and save his life.

The actor describes his character Dr. Taft as the Jeff Goldblum of naval surgeons. He added that Dr. Taft is also a bit of a wiseass and likes to joke a lot even in the operating room.

Cryer also added that his character is also looking forward to nurturing his relationship with Gibbs since Dr. Taft is not the kind of guy that Gibbs usually talks to. He also hinted that the first three episodes of “NCIS” Season 13 will deal with Gibbs’ recovery.

The actor also intimated that he has long wanted to play as a guest star in the TV series. But his role was to be one of the murder victims who shall end up on Ducky’s table in the morgue.

Getting a payback

After taking Gibbs to the Navy hospital ship and undergoing operations, Agent DiNozzo and CIA Officer Joanna Teague, played by Mimi Rogers, will travel to Shanghai and get some payback by attempting to take down The Calling, details KpopStarz.

In a recent interview, Michael Weatherly said that the NCIS team will be going to blow shit up on Season 13, not just the real explosion stuff but also some of the major characters in the TV series.

He added that the series will actually subvert viewer expectations and he thinks that Season 13 of “NCIS” will be the year when fans and viewers of the show will get uncomfortable about the storyline and some of the characters of the series.

The first episode of Season 13 is aptly titled “Stop the Bleeding,” obviously in reference to the condition of Gibbs. Aside from Jon Cryer, other guest stars of the show include Muse Watson as Mike Franks, Daniel Zolghadri as Luke Harris, Giles Matthey as Daniel Budd, David Andrews as U.S. Secretary of Defense Errol Coyne, Adetokumboh McCormack as Matthew Rousseau, Kenny Leu as CIA Officer Kenny Young, Hector Hugo as Navy Commander Fred Lewis, Katie Roberts as Navy Surgical Tech Ensign Joni Ryan, Mila Brener as Kelly Gibbs, Kent Shocknek as ZNN News Reporter Guy Ross, and Donnabella Mortel as a navy corpsman.
