Ford’s fans have been waiting for an announcement for the new 2016 Bronco for quite some time now, and there were lots of rumors about the truck going in both directions. Some were claiming that the announcement was right around the corner, while according to others Ford had decided to give up on the Bronco for the time being.
And now, the second camp of rumors is starting to get more and more prominent, and it’s starting to seem very likely that the 2016 Bronco isn’t coming to the market after all.
Hopes were somewhat slim after such a long silence from the company on that topic anyway, and not many people were actually expecting to see the major announcement in the end. Still, the Bronco is such an iconic name and it has an active following of fans who were still holding on to the hope that they would get to see the model in the end.
What could the new Bronco look like if it turns out that Ford really were working on the model though? Some of the more prominent rumors about the truck claimed that Ford were actually considering a serious revision of the model and were planning to take the line in an entirely new direction.
Those same rumors claimed that Ford didn’t see a lot of merit in the current configuration of the Bronco, and they wanted to implement some serious changes in it before bringing it back to the market. They were apparently going yo go for a hybrid between a traditional jeep and an SUV, and that could have been based on the 2004 concept that was so prominent in the community Ford’s fans.
On the other hand, some were expecting Ford to surprise their fans and introduce the model in the new “Jurassic World” film, but that didn’t end up happening. Mercedes were the ones who got this bit of exposure, and the absence of Ford’s new model only solidified some fans’ belief that the Bronco isn’t coming anytime soon.
Of course, some fans will always be hard to convince and it will probably take even longer before everyone accepts the truth that the Bronco isn’t going to return to the market soon. Especially when we have various prominent rumors going around, and many people claiming that the model still hasn’t been abandoned. At this point though, a large part of that are media companies trying to ride the hype train.
It’s worth noting that a quick look at some of the more prominent forums focused on trucks and particularly Ford’s models paints a peculiar picture – it seems like many people would actually happily take a look at a redesigned Bronco, and some fans of the line are actually convinced that this is what the Bronco needs in order to get back into the market with full force. There are various ideas being juggled around regarding what kinds of changes Ford could implement exactly, and some of the suggestions we’ve seen are quite interesting indeed.
Would it be a smart move for Ford to focus on a new Bronco right now, or should they put their effort into another model? While various fans of the company have a good feeling about the current situation, it’s also true that the market has changed a lot over the years and the landscape is different right now.
