Selena Gomez says that there is more to her than being linked to Justin Bieber and that people and media outlets should start moving on from her past relationship the way she has done.
The 23-year-old singer took to Twitter to make the statement after a news outlet ran an interview with her and the article appears to be dwelling on old news because it again focused on her relationship with the 22-year-old “Baby” singer.
In her tweet, Selena said that she finds it disappointing seeing interviews that she has done recently and it sounded like the exact same interview when she was still 16, details the USA Today.
The singer believes that boyfriends of the past should stay in the past and that it is time for the rest of the world to move on with her.
She also mentioned that she has a new album coming out and that there is a lot more to her now than merely talking about her and her past with the Biebs.
Leg parade with BFF
Meanwhile, Selena Gomez joined her ultimate BFF Taylor Swift on stage during the latter’s latest show to promote her latest album “1989” at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on August 26.
Taylor Swift and Selena sang Selena’s “Good for You” single on stage wearing matching hot pants, showing their legs but inverse ensembles – Taylor wore white while Selena put on black.
The “Blank Space” singer wore a customs white bustier and short shorts while Selena Gomez wore plunging top and black booty shorts, both designed by Norma Kamali.
Even the footwear of the ultimate BFF matched as they wore black suede, over-the-knee high-heeled boots by Stuart Weitzman, notes US Magazine.
After wrapping up the song, Taylor and Selena stood at the end of the stage, laughing and holding one another. It was a moment that was relived by Selena on her Instagram by captioning the image post, saying that after eight years of friendship, she can’t wait to tell their kids that the two of them actually got to perform together in front of thousands of insanely beautiful people.
She ended up her post by expressing her love to the “Shake It Up” singer by referring to her as Tay. Swift reciprocated Selena’s Instagram post by also sharing her own photo of them owning the stage which she captioned as ‘sisterhood.’
Working on a diss song
A few months ago, fans of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez got extremely excited with delight when their music idols started hanging out with one another and they started thinking that the two are getting back together again after calling it quits late last year.
Unfortunately, it was just a short-lived hangout session as eventually it became clear that Selena Gomez does not want to risk going into a relationship again with the Biebs, despite supposed attempts from Justin to win her back.

Although Justin made insinuations that he wants to win Selena back, he was actually dating British model Jayde Pierce about the time when he made those efforts with “The Heart Wants What it Wants” singer.
Selena probably thought that two can play the game that the “Baby” singer was playing so she also started seeing actor Orlando Bloom again. After saying in public that Selena was a flip-floppy person, he subsequently released his new song “What Do You Mean” that apparently was a diss song against the 22-year-old songstress.
As if to heighten the diss of the song, Kylie Jenner, who is a friend of Hailey Baldwin, to whom Justin was accused of cheating when he and Selena were still dating, even posted on Instagram endorsing the new song. Fans of Selena Gomez were actually offended with what Kylie did as they felt that it was an indirect swipe at their music idol.
