‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ Concept Art at D23 Expo Showing Sora Riding Baymax of ‘Big Hero 6’ Thrills Gamers!

Game developer Square Enix has already unravelled the gameplay trailer of the highly-anticipated crossover role-playing game “Kingdom Hearts 3” during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 held in June and subsequently announced that the video game will be released next year on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

During the gameplay trailer, it was clear that the Disney-themed worlds that protagonist Sora will go into with pals Donald Duck and Goofy are that of Rapunzel’s “Tangled” and “Hercules.”

Gamers thought that Square Enix already settled for the two Disney-themed worlds for “Kingdom Hearts 3.” They were wrong as the game developer pulled a surprise and made the announcement during the D23 Expo held at Anaheim, California on August 14 to 16.

Through a concept art, Square Enix showed that the world of “Big Hero 6” will also be integrated into “Kingdom Hearts 3” as Sora is shown riding an armoured Baymax with his Keyblade extended out toward what looks like a dark Baymax, details Games Radar.

Astute gamers and “Big Hero 6” fans later on explained that the dark Baymax is the one who was left in the portal when Hiro and his team tried to rescue the professor’s daughter from Yonkai. While the Baymax who is giving a ride to Sora is the new Baymax that Hiro developed using the original chip.

Fighting against a Heartless Baymax

While Square Enix did not show any updated gameplay trailer featuring Baymax and the world of “Big Hero 6” on “Kingdom Hearts 3” at the D23 Expo, the concept art was more than enough to thrill gamers and fans of the video game to no end. It was more than enough to heighten the excitement for the release of the game next year, which was what the intention of the game developer in the first place in showing the concept art during the event.

Based on the concept art, it seems clear that players, as Sora, will have to team up with Baymax to fight the dark version of another Baymax robot, likely corrupted by the evil Heartless that serve as the main antagonists in the “Kingdom Hearts” video game series, details Design & Trend.

Roy Conli, Walt Disney animations producer, said that “Kingdom Hearts 3” will be set after the events of the “Big Hero 6” film, so players will be able to meet and fight alongside the film’s entire team of heroes including Baymax.

The game as an HD title

Despite overwhelming fan clamor and excitement over the release of “Kingdom Hearts 3,” Square Enix is not about to give in to the emotions of gamers.

The unravelling of the trailer of the video game at the E3 2015 in June showed that it was such a visual feast to the eyes and its gameplay was very excellent.

Fans were actually expecting that Square Enix would again showcase “Kingdom Hearts 3” at the just concluded Gamescom 2015 in Cologne, Germany but got surprised when it did not happen. But the developer certainly more than made up for it with their big reveal at the subsequent D23 Expo.

Game director Tetsuya Nomura revealed during the E3 2015 that “Kingdom Hearts 3” will be released early next year, but there was no specific date mentioned as to when the video game will exactly hit the video game shelves.

Nomura also disclosed that development of the game is pretty much close to being complete but they are still finetuning other resources and mass elements to ensure that the game really comes out as an HD title, which would further highlight its superb visuals and graphics.

The director said that, for the most part, the development team has established the ground foundations including the basic systems and mechanics of what is going to happen in the game.

  1. Although I’m not a big fan of “Frozen”, I think that it should be in “Kingdom Hearts 3”; I mean, it would be a good idea to play along in the story line. But “Star Wars is coming out about next year I think, and since the official movie trailer came out, “Disney” wanted to own “Star Wars”. Having said that, if Nomura wanted to wait until Star Wars is owned by “Disney” (at least what I heard) then he is making a mistake. I’m sorry; but fans wouldn’t wait too long. It’s good to hear that KH3 is coming out early next year (I hope).
