Pop singer and “American Idol” alum Adam Lambert is set to make a huge comeback in the UK later this month for the upcoming Fusion Festival. It will be Lambert’s first appearance in the very popular pop event in Birmingham.
Lambert has been on a tear recently after the successful launching of his third album titled “The Original High” which was officially released on June 21. He once again enjoyed global chart success with his latest album. It actually broke into the Top 10 in the UK charts.
The 33-year-old eccentric musician has been going on tour lately with the iconic rock band Queen. Because of the rapport that they have established, Lambert was officially chosen as the new frontman for Queen alongside Brian May, filling in the position that was left by the death of Freddie Mercury several years ago.
Lambert will play the Birmingham gig as a last-minute addition to the line-up which already includes McBusted, The Vamps, and Ed Sheeran, notes the Daily Star of UK. It will be the first solo performance for Adam Lambert on UK soil, just months after touring the world with Queen.
Last-minute switch
The Fusion Festival fell into a quagmire recently after pop superstar Justin Bieber pulled out of the event just weeks before its actual holding. But singer Ed Sheeran came to the rescue by agreeing to take the place of the “Baby” singer within just a matter of hours.
Ed Sheeran says that he is delighted to be playing at the Fusion Festival after stepping in the last minute to help out the guys at Fusion and support The Princes Trust.
The “Thinking Out Loud” singer says that the Birmingham crowds are always lively, so he can hardly wait to come back and perform before them.
The Fusion Festival will be held at the Birmingham’s Cofton Park on August 30. Other performers in the biggest pop event of summer in the UK include Tinie Tempah, Labrinth, Clean Bandit, and many more, details Music-News.com.
Lambert took the UK Top 10 chart by a storm following the release of “The Original High” which actually reached Top Three in the US and worldwide.
The album’s carrier single “Ghost Town” has already been streamed 55 million times and the music video has had over 17 million views.

After nearly three years of hiatus in the official music scene, Adam has had an amazing 2015 which began when he performed with Queen on BBC1 on New Year’s Eve to 15 million people. That stint resulted to Adam Lambert being the most searched musician on Google UK for four consecutive days.
Lambert shot to stardom on the “American Idol” singing competition reality TV show where he was awarded runner-up during the show’s Season 8. He has since guested on “Glee,” the musical TV series, did the vocal on a track on Avicii’s album, released three solo albums, and performed on sold-out worldwide concert tours with Queen.
Adam Lambert is among those millions who were surprised and dismayed to know that the reality talent search TV show “American Idol” will be formally ending with its Season 15.
Many fans of the show believed that “American Idol” is actually the only show on TV that discovered legitimate and talented real deal superstars, Adam Lambert being one of them.
Some also averred that other reality talent search TV shows that came after “American Idol” was just there for the sake of joining the bandwagon and ratings. He has excelled in many different media, including tv, an individual concert tour and a tour fronting queen, a movie theme song, singing Love Wins Over Glamour at the Life Ball, hosting VH1 Divas, being a pioneer for equality, having 3 top 3 albums, and earning critical acclaim for everything he does. His voice and performance abilities are unequaled in music today and in the past. Adam has truly become an international star. He is more popular in some countries than he is in the US.
I am not sure your article is completely accurate. Adam’s season on American Idol was in 2009, and American Idol is ending with its 15th season, not the 16th. I think Adam was the #1 searched on Google in the UK for several days, not just the #1 searched musician.
Queen is one of the best and most respected rock bands ever. The praise that Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen have showered upon Adam could not be better. They call him a “Gift from God” and a “one in a billion voice. They have said that they will not perform with any other singer. If you haven’t seen Adam perform with Queen on tour, you are missing out on one of the best rock concerts ever. I am talking about watching one of the tour performances, not something that was on tv. Adam truly lets loose when performing on tour. He is an incredibly natural performer, born to it.
A reminder: The Queen + Adam tour resumes in South America in September with shows in Brazil, Argentina and Chile. The “main event” will of course be Rock in Rio.
