Rumors about “Frozen 2” are piling up, but apart from those, we also occasionally get some more official bits of information that confirm details of the upcoming film’s plot. One of the things that were revealed most recently is that Elsa is going to undergo some significant transformations in her character for the new film, and fans are going to see her in a very different light.
Apparently, the producers now want to explore a more fun, lighthearted side of her personality, something that wasn’t accented so heavily in the first film, at least not until the end. She went through a very challenging journey during “Frozen” and just around the end of the film, she started to feel like she was actually able to have some fun once again. And because of this, the producers now have a lot of freedom to expand on that element and make her character even more entertaining in the new film.
Of course, we don’t know exactly how she’s going to be different in “Frozen 2”, and the most we can do right now is speculate – something which fans of the film have been doing quite a lot recently. There are some prominent theories going around about what her new character could be like, but it seems clear that most fans of the original film really would be interested in a more lighthearted version of the character.
On the other hand, it’s possible that the film might not pay so much attention to Elsa solely, as it could also focus on her relationship with her sister on a deeper level. It’s already been confirmed that the new film is going to share its setting with the last one, which opens up some interesting possibilities for the development of its plot. In any case, we expect to see Elsa being portrayed in a more mature light, as both her character and her fans will have gone through some growing-up since the last film.
Sure, “Frozen” wasn’t aimed solely at children, but it was definitely a kids’ movie, and many of those who enjoyed the original production will now see the new film in a slightly different light due to their ages. Because of this, we don’t expect the studio to follow the exact same formula with the production of “Frozen 2” as they did with the original, but the film should of course retain some familiarity if it is to be taken well by the fans.
Other than the above, we don’t have anything new to share about “Frozen 2”, as the movie has been kept secret by its producers to a large extent. Which is understandable, considering the popularity of the original, and the inevitably huge amount of attention that the new film is going to get. We’re definitely going to have a lot of people focusing on “Frozen 2” and analyzing it in detail once it’s out, and there’s no doubt that everyone behind the movie is currently toying around with different ideas.
So it’s probably for the best that we can’t see what’s going on behind the scenes, as it’s very likely that some of the ideas that are being tossed around right now aren’t going to make it into the final production, and may be taken the wrong way by the community. Especially if they concern more controversial plot developments that may or may not be included in the end.
