HTC has come up with a big phone-tablet crossover for just $300 without any contract. Dubbed as Desire 816, the company has made its first attempt in developing a low-cost and large-sized smartphone in the United States.
The affordable HTC Desire 816 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat mobile operating system and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset. It is equipped with a Quad core 1.5GHz processor and Adreno 305 graphic processor.
However, couple of sources also suggest the device may get the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, which may improve the performance further and add some more animations. Earlier this month a leaked image hinted the HTC Desire 816 phablet may get Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.
Google released its Android 5.0 Lollipop earlier this month offering several new features such as extended battery life and Material Design UI.
