Recently, reports were claiming that Sharhrukh Khan was offered a project in a film alongside Jackie Chan, something which many pointed out could have been a very positive development for his career. However, the actor’s recent refusal to participate in the project came as a surprise to many, and it looks like the film won’t be coming to the screen after all, at least not with Khan in one of the main roles.
According to the reports, the project is being developed by a major Hollywood studio, and they were looking for two male actors for their lead roles – apparently, they had decided that Jackie Chan and Shahrukh Khan would make the perfect candidates for the parts, and had approached both of them.
However, Asian Age reports that Khan ended up rejecting the proposal, explaining that he felt like he would be overshadowed by Jackie Chan, and seemed to believe that this performance would actually be detrimental to his career, instead of helpful as many were suggesting.
And while it’s true that Jackie Chan is definitely a more prominent actor who would have gotten more recognition from that film, it would still give Khan quite the good exposure and would possibly open up lucrative opportunities for him.
It’s also worth noting that this is not the first time the actor has rejected a Hollywood project, and the last time he did that – with “Slumdog Millionaire” – the film turned out to be a huge hit, and we can only imagine that he must have felt at least a little bit disappointed over his decision to turn down the offer.
Instead, the producers chose Anil Kapoor, who got the role intended for Shahrukh Khan – and the movie shot his popularity skyhigh, allowing him to star along with Tom Cruise in “Mission Impossible”. His name is now quite prominent in the industry, and we can only imagine that we’ll be hearing about him for some time in the future as well.
Shahrukh Khan apparently wants to focus on the “Yash Raj” film, directed by Aditya Chopra, which also has Salman Khan in the main role. Shahrukh and Salman seem to be working with each other quite well, and their collaboration is shaping up to be a very productive one so far, so at least the actor has been filling up his time nicely and it doesn’t seem like his refusal to work with Jackie Chan is going to impact his career too negatively.
Meanwhile, there have been some rumors that Jackie Chan might make an appearance in the next season of “Criminal Minds”, although we don’t know the exact details of that yet – nor do we have any idea if the rumors are even true at this point.
The rumor is coming from the official Twitter account for the show, which posted a cryptic message that seemed to imply that the actor would be taking part in the new season. The post also came with a photo of Dr. Spencer Reid holding a cup of coffee (or at least it looked like coffee).
The tweet seemed to cite a line spoken by the doctor in season 10, episode 18, and fans have been speculating what the implications could be. At this point, many people are expecting to see Jackie Chan in the new season of the show, but we have no idea if it will be a small cameo or a more major appearance that may span over several episodes. In any case, the possibility has had fans very excited.
