‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Return of Jon Snow Pretty Much a Done Deal

Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” is to be aired on HBO in April 2016 yet but talks about the fate of Jon Snow has been a trending topic on the internet ever since Season 5 aired its 10th and final episode late in June.

One of the highlights of the series finale of Season 5 was when Jon Snow was brutally stabbed by his brothers in the Night Watch and he was left lying in the snow as if his life was passing before his very eyes as the show draws to a close.

Subsequently, the biggest question for the fans is whether Jon Snow would still manage to survive the ordeal. Two episodes back, he was also cheating death as he was battling the rampaging white walkers overrunning the wildings camp at Hardhome. He was able to survive the onslaught as he and some wildings were able to escape Hardhome onboard boats as they head back to Castle Black.

Some of the avid fans of the show believes that Jon Snow will be able to survive his ordeal as it was shown in the series finale that Melisandre, the Red Woman in the camp of Stanis Baratheon, went back to Castle Black after Stanis and his troops were defeated and killed by Ramsay Bolton and his men before they can even attack Winterfell.

However, as far as the cast and production staffs are concerned, they have been publicly stating that it’s all over for Jon Snow in “Game of Thrones.” It is no secret that the series is not hesitant to kill off its major characters since Season 1.

Deader than dead

Director David Nutter said last month Jon Snow is deader than dead. Even Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow in the series, is convinced that his character is already dead. He was even quoted recently telling viewers to follow other good people in the show including Tyrion Lanister, Daenerys Targaryen, or Brienne of Tarth instead.

In an interview also last month, Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, said that Jon Snow is really good as dead and won’t be coming back next season.

But according to actress Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys in the show, Jon Snow has a 50/50 chance of surviving his predicament in the series finale of Season 5 of “Game of Thrones,” but she later on said that it was just wishful thinking on her part and that she has no idea what will happen to one of the fan favorite characters in the very popular and widely-followed TV series.

Lives to fight another day

Filming for Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” has begun early this month and it seems that fans of the show and Jon Snow would be happy to know that Kit Harrington was recently spotted on the same flight to Belfast, Northern Ireland from London with actor Tom Wlaschiha, reports the International Business Times.

Wlaschiha is the actor who plays Jagen H’ghar in the series. Harrington was seen to be sporting his long hairstyle as he is contractually obligated to maintain his long mane for the fantasy TV series.

This could only mean positive things for Jon Snow as it would seem that he would live to fight another day in the forthcoming Season 6 of “Game of Thrones.”

Game of Thrones season 5

One lady fan also tweeted that Kit Harrington is returning to the next season of “Game of Thrones” and that the report is 100% sure, which she later reduced to 99.9999%.

Fans of the series and also of Jon Snow should be happy to know that Kit Harrington is one of the six actors whose contracts have been renewed early this year all the way up to the end of Season 6 of “Game of Thrones.”

  1. He will come back. As a white Walker. Then be burned after killing at least three people.

    1. White Walkers aren’t harmed by fire. You’re thinking of Wights. Wights and White Walkers are not the same thing.
