The Season 6 summer finale of ABC’s hit show “Pretty Little Liars” is just two episodes away and showrunners are pretty much determined to give fans so much information including the biggest question there is ever since the show began – Who is A?
While fans know A is only a disguise to Charles DiLaurentis, who was recently revealed to be Alison’s older brother and Jason’s twin, it would be nice to pin a face to the name. According to the International Business Times, the summer finale of Season 6 will finally unveil the face of the girls’ tormentor. Executive producer Marlene King hinted that the finale, which will air on August 11, will prove why the show’s current season was promoted as ‘the summer of answers.’ She adds that the last episode of “Pretty Little Liars” Season 6 will mark the final appearance of the infamous red coat worn by A.
Even though the summer finale of the mystery drama will certainly shed light to a lot of its mysteries, it is also undoubtedly going to leave a lot more hanging. Marlene admitted that she originally had planned big A’s reveal during the Season 6 finale, but she decided to move it to the 6A summer finale. Fans have been predicting that King will introduce Uber A – the ultimate protagonist with a deadlier mission to destroy Ali, Hanna, Spencer, Aria, and Emily.
Theories suggest that since Janel Parrish’s Mona used to be A, Charles is now Big A, and Uber A’s presence, who is much above Charles, will be made known later in the series and more likely on the show’s upcoming seventh and final season.
Speaking coyly to EW, King neither confirmed nor denied these theories, saying she wasn’t going to make any comment about Uber A because it might ruin the surprises they have in store down the line.
Thanks to the DiLaurentis patriarch, Kenneth, played by Jim Abele, spilling the truth, fans now know that Charles was sent to Radley by his parents because of his disturbing behavior. Charles committed suicide when he was 16 and his grave lies in their late Aunt Carol’s house. It seems like the DiLaurentis family has a habit of cheating death because apparently, Charles really escaped Radley with Bethany Young. The last scene from the sixth episode of Season 6 showed Kenneth digging up Charles’ grave only to find an empty coffin.
In the latest episode titled “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou,” the mysterious Charles was ready to celebrate his birthday by initiating an unlikely family reunion. The ominous hooded character was apparently planning on making a special appearance in Rosewood but Mr. D himself is trying stop his kids from reuniting, sending Alison, played by Sasha Pieterse and Jason, played by Drew Van Acker, as far away as possible from their now undead brother. Jason, who admits that he remembers having an imaginary childhood friend named Charlie, was ready to risk his safety just to prove the truth about his twin brother.
The Liars apparently have different takes on Charles coming to Rosewood. Spencer, played by Troian Bellisario and Hanna, played by Ashley Benson believe that luring the newfound member of the DiLaurentis family into Rosewood gives them a bigger opportunity to capture him and put an end to his torture to the girls. Aria, played by Lucy Hale and Emily, played by Shay Mitchell, think that staying away from him is the best way not to get them all dead since they’ve barely escaped his mental torture last season. The latest episode also saw the reunion of Spencer and Keegan Alley’s Toby. Spencer finally filled in Toby the truth about Charles and he was willing to help her get closer to Rosewood’s villain.
