‘Fear The Walking Dead’ to Detail How the Walkers of ‘The Walking Dead’ Came to Be

The upcoming new TV series “Fear the Walking Dead” will reveal details about the “The Walking Dead” zombie apocalypse beginnings, rather than focusing on zombie battle itself. The new series will premiere on August 23 on AMC, and it will provide a different angle from the one seen in the popular “The Walking Dead” series on the same network.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the plot is set before the actual zombie infection began. Instead of desolate surroundings, the new sequel will shed some light on how the civilization dealt with the first outbreaks of the apocalypse, thus introducing a more lively landscape.

Set in Los Angeles, “Fear the Walking Dead” will bring a particular insight on how living near water has affected the course of events, as reported by Design & Trend. The lively surroundings will be enhanced by city life. Instead of confrontations in the woods and abandoned dwellings, the new sequel will bring an urban angle with the count of the world’s population significantly higher.

The storyline includes increasing concerns about the rising reports about incidents across the world. The population is worried about the new outbreaks, guessing if the incidents were caused by a microbe or a virus. The official trailer was released on June 26, and it offers early glimpses of the initial indications of a possible zombie apocalypse.

The trailer offers unique scenes of individual incidents that serve as early signs of a potential zombie outbreak. The characters are confused, wondering what these signs actually mean.

“Fear the Walking Dead” will not retain the primary “The Walking Dead” cast, as it will have its own cast to the series. The leading character Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, will have slept through the season, notes Design & Trend.

Previously announced cast members include Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Kim Dickens, Alycia Debnam-Carey and others. An additional cast member to enter the series will be actor Colman Domingo, who will play the role of Strand.

“Fear the Walking Dead” is considered to be a brand new series, mainly due to the fact that it incorporates a different storyline than the original series. The first season of the new series will be comprised of six episodes, starting from August.

In addition to the new series, the new Season 6 of the original “The Walking Dead” series will double the shooting efforts. The storyline of the new season will, unlike the new “Fear the Walking Dead,” continue the string of the previous original seasons. Season 6 of “The Walking Dead” will also premiere on AMC on October 11.

The storyline of the original “The Walking Dead” will not be incorporated in the new series’ plot. Instead, it will include new families and events within a civilized world. It should be noted that the series might not even use the term walkers to describe the series zombie characters.

According to IGN, the creators of the series have no intentions of merging the “The Walking Dead” with the new companion series. “Fear the Walking Dead” will have a plot and subplot all its own.

One of the first information about the new series came with the revelation of the series’ poster in the recently concluded San Diego ComicCon. The poster made the revelation of the zombie infection origins, bearing the title ‘Fear Begins Here.’
