With the month of August less than two weeks away, subscribers of PlayStation Plus are airing their gripes again about the lack of Triple A game titles in the Instant Game Collection that Sony has been releasing month in and month out.
According to Bidness ETC, since the launch of the PlayStation 4 in November 2013, Sony has only launched a Triple A game title three times, the last of which was on December 2014 when it included “Injustice: Gods Among Us” as part of its Instant Game Collection.
The other two occasions was when Sony launched “Infamous: First Light” and “Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.” The rest of the months, Sony was merely launching mostly Indie game titles and PlayStation Plus subscribers keep on feeling that they are being short-changed every time free games come out at the beginning of each month.
This month, the game titles that were released as free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers for PS4 include the “Mousecraft,” “Entwined” “Rocket League,” “Styx: Master of Shadows,” and “Driveclub PS Plus Edition.”
The other games for the PS3 and the PS Vita are “Rain” and “Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved,” details PS Plus Info.
Demanding more
PlayStation fans are now demanding more from Sony and the company should meet these demands if the company wants to maintain their subscription to the PlayStation Plus.
The release of Triple A game titles also becomes imperative for Sony since the company actually forces PS4 owners to play online.
As much as it is putting a requirement on its gamers for the subscription it is offering, Sony has a bigger responsibility to offer Triple A game titles.
Fans have been clamoring for classic Triple A game titles including “Killzone: Shadowfall,” “Infamous: Second Son” or “Knack” for quite some time. All these Triple A games are exclusive on the PS4 so it is about time that Sony gives it a good thought. But it seems like Sony would not quench subscribers’ demands just yet and the most that the company may offer in August is “Knack.”
Meanwhile, the PlayStation Blog has announced that in time for the EVO Championship Series, the world’s largest and longest-running fighting game tournament, Sony is offering great deals on a number of favorite fighting games and movies.
Fighting game titles like “Mortal Kombat X,” “Ultra Street Fighter IV,” and “Guilty Gear Xrd” as well as films like “Foxcatcher,” “Fight Club” and more are up for a 60% discount. PlayStation Plus subscribers receive an additional discount of 15%, so they can get the game and movie titles for as much as 75% off.
But the so-called knockout sales will only be until July 20 so PS Plus subscribers and others should take advantage of the offer at the PlayStation Store soon before it’s over.
Time for a high-profile game title
PlayStation Plus subscribers have been clamoring for a Triple A game from Sony Computer Entertainment because the last time that a high-profile game title came out was in December last year.
PS Plus members have since been missing a free Triple A game title as most of the free games that come out every month were mostly from independent game studios.
However from the looks of the current Instant Game Collection (IGC), it seems like the Triple A game that subscribers have long been waiting for from Sony has yet to arrive. It is not clear when will Sony finally roll out one, but they are hoping that it would be soon.

Well James, there is a simple problem with that, sony has guaranteed Triple A titles when they announced PS+ back in the day, during the ps3 time, that was the case but during the ps4 era as the op here stated, it only happend 3 times – and we feel cheated on.

They are not “free” games. We pay a monthly fee to get the games. I subscribe to plus specifically for these games (I don’t do multiplayer). The games Sony is handing out leave a lot to be desired.
I’ve been nothing but happy with the free games. Sony doesn’t owe me anything, nor do they have a “responsibility” to give me their products for free.
For the last time the games are not free
I just think they owe us something for forcing us to pay to play online, and its getting to the point that when psn is up without problems is news. Psn keeps breaking and you expect people to still pay for your services. Its always broke I might as well use the $50 to buy a game than to expect pan to work correctly.
I agree with the last comment that PlayStation Store is always broken down.. it is a constant issue with little to no notice from Sony, when it happens. This caused me to reconsider renewing my service in the future. IT’S TIME SONY “PUT ON THEIR BIG COMPANY’S PANTS AND ASSUME RESPOSABILITY” stop blaming hackers and what not!! Give your customers a polite notice and/or the choice to update your service when we want.
