The latest game pack addition to the popular life simulation video game “The Sims 4” just came out in time for summer. The “Spa Day” game pack does not disappoint as it gives players and their Sims some rest and relaxation. Game publisher Electronic Arts has shown that player Sims also get stressed and need a break from their chores every now and then.
EA just made available for download for PC and Mac users “The Sims 4 Spa Day” game pack on July 14. Taking the cue from its title, the new updates bring forth three new spa facilities, each coming with specialty skills, and a gym to top it all off. EA also released a gameplay trailer for the new game pack showing the Sims getting facials and nourishing their bodies, minds, and souls.
According to Tech Times, the second paid DLC game pack comes with multiple spa-related activities that Sims can do including yoga, massages, and even meditation. The newest pack consists of the Perfect Balance Spa where sauna and meditation can improve the Sims’ wellness. The Center of Massage will give Sims some rest and relaxation through revitalizing massages.
The third new location is the Aham Ashram Yoga Studio, which is a place where Sims can learn more about the fine art of yoga. Lastly, the gym is added as a new place Sims can get into to get themselves in good physical conditions and in shape.
Also introduced in the “Spa Day” game pack are the wellness skills. As Sims acquire more wellness skills, they will be more equipped to hold better yoga poses, be a well-skilled masseuse, and even have the ability to levitate and eventually teleport. According to the game’s official website, the wellness skill will eventually give the Sims the capability to make new healthy recipes that come with special benefits.
New objects are also incorporated to the latest game update including such as sauna, mud baths, and massage table. There is also a whole new wardrobe of outfits once the game pack’s zen vibe is downloaded. PC Gamers reports that players can also make their own spas if they want to. As a bonus, most items available in the spas can also be used in the Sims’ home.
The video game’s first paid game pack entitled “Outdoor Retreat” was released earlier this year. Much like the previous versions of the hit computer game, the Sims can go on vacation but focused more on camping. It introduced a new world called Granite Falls, the herbalism skill, and other new traits.
Just last month, EA also released the “Perfect Patio Stuff” content pack that gives Sims all the things they need to create the perfect outdoor space. It also featured new summer-themed hairstyle clothes for the characters.
Officially announced on May 6, 2013, ‘The Sims 4’ was released in September last year for Microsoft Windows while a Mac-friendly software version was made available for digital download only in February this year. The life simulation game has the same concept as its predecessor, “The Sims 3,” still maintaining a non-linear gameplay.
Players create their own Sims according to their liking and preference, build and design their homes, control them in various activities, and allow them to interact and form relationships. Up until now, there is still no plan for “The Sims” franchise to be made available for other gaming consoles.
Aside from the new game pack, two new highly-requested features will be available for “The Sims 4” through a free update. Christian Today reports that the first one will be the availability of locked doors. These are designed to eliminate instances where Sims are led to places they should not be. According to Kotaku, the purpose of locked doors is to limit some places to specific Sims only, turning it to an ‘Employees Only’ section of that sort.
