Nintendo has released the latest 1.0.9 update to “Super Smash Bros 4” on July 2. After the release, “Super Smash Bros 4” have been updated with adjustments to the game experience, particularly the online multiplayer features.
According to the official statement of Nintendo support, the “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U is now available for download in the Nintendo eShop. Online multiplayer features of the game require the installation of the update before using the game app.
As the fourth iteration of fighting video game “Super Smash Bros,” it is also referred to as “Super Smash Bros 4” but officially, Nintendo calls the game simply as “Super Smash Bros.”
Since the game was launched in November 2014, Nintendo has released a total of nine updates to the software. Update 1.0.1 was released on November 21, 2014, and it included stability and performance fixes, in addition to the pre-load download, which allows full game installation.
Update 1.0.2 was released on January 29, 2015, and it included additional 15 new Smash and Omega Stages. Regular 8 Player Stages include the Wii Fit Studio, Smashville, Town and City, Pokemon Stadium 2, Lylat Cruise, Norfair, Pyrosphere, Luigi’s Mansion and Mario Circuit. The Omega Stages include Mario Circuit, Town and City, Pokemon Stadium 2, Lylat Cruise, Mario Galaxy and The Great Cave Offensive.
The 1.0.6 update was released on April 15. It included an added share mode, where users can post photos and replay data, search, and download content from the official server, as well as post their own content. Users can also post photos and Custom stages to Miiverse. The photos are posted to Snapshot Sharing Community. In addition, six new player stages were added, including Delfino Plaza, Port Town Aero Dive, Wooly World, Orbital Gate Assault, Wii Fit Studio, and Pilotwings.
Version 1.0.7 update was released on April 23, in which Nintendo resolved the problem with the game’s interpretation of Global Smash Power. The feature comes out as an invalid data which makes the game unable to connect to the Internet after the player uses Mewtwo DLC in All-Star, Classic, and Trophy Rush game modes.
Update 1.0.8 has introduced a Miiverse stage which can be selected during Smash mode gameplay with less than four players. Miiverse communities messages have been updated to appear when Wii U hardware is connected to the internet. Nintendo also added cheering communities for each fighter individually. The update was issued on June 14.
The latest update was issued for Nintendo Wii U and it can be downloaded by connecting the Wii U to the internet, and loading the physical copy of the game. After launching the game, the user has to follow on-screen instructions and the system will download and install the latest update.
As to the DS platforms, no information has been provided regarding the updates, according Tech Times. The game falls under the category of fighting video games. It was developed by Bandai Namco Games and Sora Ltd.
The gameplay consists of fighting where characters use special abilities to attack and weaken the opponents.
“Super Smash Bros 4” offer multiplayer modes on Wii platforms, in which players fight using various techniques and strategies. The ultimate goal is to knock the opponent out of the field by using attacks and increasing their damage percentage.
The players are allowed to use special items which turn up on the field. One such item is the Smash Ball, which allows a character to use its most powerful move against the opponent, thus performing the Final Smash.
Another special item in the game is the Assist Trophy which involves calling other non-playable characters to help the character in the battlefield. The game also offers trophies or special items which are exclusive to both the Wii U version and the Nintendo DS version.
Each platform has its specific features. The 3DS version uses stereoscopic 3D graphics in order to enhance visibility and offers two gameplay modes – the Street Smash and Smash Run.
