‘Captain America: Civil War’ will have Daniel Bruhl Taking on the Villain Character of Baron Zemo

“Captain America: Civil War” is set to premiere in global theaters on May 6, 2016. Filming of the third installment of the “Captain America” movie franchise now includes Daniel Bruhl shooting scenes as Baron Zemo. The actor has already started filming on July 6, based on the Atlanta Filming’s Twitter update.

Baron Zemo, one of the well known “Captain America” villain characters, will be embodied by the 23-year-old actor. The cast of the upcoming movie includes some of Marvel’s household names like Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner. Chris Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers and Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. will play Tony Stark and Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson will be Natasha Romanoff and Black Widow, and Jeremy Renner will take on the role of Hawkeye. The cast also includes Tom Holand as Peter Parker and Spider-Man and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man.

“Captain America: Civil War” is based on the comic book written by Mark Millar while the screenplay is developed by Christopher Marcus and Stephen McFeely. The character of Steve Rogers, the alter ego of Captain America, was created by cartoonists Joe Simon and Jack Kirby.

Timely Comics first published the “Captain America” comic in 1941 and the sequels were popular during World War II.  Steve Rogers is the protagonist of these comic books, that were later taken over and published by Marvel Comics beginning in 1964.

Captain America first appeared on screen in the 1944 movie named “Captain America.” The two most recent screen  adaptations of “Captain America” were all made by Marvel Studios, starring Chris Evans.

The two “Captain America” movies made by Marvel are “Captain America: The First Avenger” and  “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” Captain America and Steve Rogers also appeared in two other Marvel movies including “Marvel’s The Avengers” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

 

“Captain America: The First Avenger” was released in 2011. It was distributed by Paramount Pictures. The story is set during World War II and it follows the character of Captain America who fights the character Red Skull, who seeks world domination using his own Nazi army. The movie premiered in Hollywood in 2011, earning a total of $370.6 million. “Captain America: The First Avenger” was mainly filmed in England and the USA.

The sequel, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” was shown in 2014. The movie was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Motion Pictures. The movie was filmed in Ohio and Baltimore. The plot is based on Captain America’s battle with the Winter Soldier, a Soviet assassin with a mission to kill Captain America. The movie made a worldwide box office haul of $714.8 million worldwide.

“Marvel’s The Avengers” movie was released in 2012 and it revolves around  superheroes who fight as a team against the villain Loki, Thor’s half-brother. The movie involves Marvel’s great superhero characters like Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and a few more additions. “Marvel’s The Avengers” became the third highest-grossing film of all time, as it earned a total of  $1.518 billion. Filming locations include the states of Ohio and New Mexico.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” is a sequel to the 2012’s “Marvel’s The Avengers,” featuring the same Marvel superhero characters from its predecessor with new character editions. The movie was announced in 2012 and it premiered on April 13, 2015. The sequel ranks as the third highest grossing film in 2015 with over $1.3 billion earned and the sixth highest-grossing film of all time. It was filmed in various locations such as Bangladesh, Johannesburg in South Africa and Seoul in South Korea.
