One of the most exciting and widely anticipated releases in the film industry right now is that of “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” – or, as it’s been officially confirmed to be titled, “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2”. The name first came from Science Fiction, and was later confirmed by James Gunn on his official Twitter account.
We’re not sure if the name was actually supposed to be revealed so early, but in any case, we have it in front of us now. There apparently won’t be any subtitle for the new film, much to the disappointment of some fans of the original. Apparently, some would have preferred a catchy-sounding subtitle in addition to the main one, but this is of course not the most important part of a film production.
Gunn may have also given some spoilers about the plot of the upcoming film, or at least the general direction that it will take. The story is apparently going to be much more emotional, and will be about the topic of the relationship between a father and his children.
This, according to some fans, means that we might see the backstory of Chris Pratt’s character revealed in the new film, and unlike the last one, it will be more focused on what’s going on inside the heads of its characters and the kinds of struggles they’re dealing with.
Peter Quill will be in search of his “Father”, according to some rumors, and that could be the meaning behind the main theme of the film. That could imply that some of the scenes in the new film could take place at the Spartoi Empire, where his true father J’son is claiming his birthright as the next Emperor of the Spartoi Empire.
If the plot line about the search for Peter’s father is true, this could indeed make the film a lot more emotional and dramatic, and we expect there to be some interesting conflicts as well. Hopefully though, all of this isn’t going to come at the cost of some exciting action scenes, as after all, this is what primarily drew fans to the first film.
Chris Pratt will be accompanied by Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel in the new production. So far, the release date for “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2” has been set for May 2017, and while we haven’t heard any reports of possible delays, there is a lot of time to go until then and it’s not impossible that the film might run into some setbacks.
Hopefully not though – this is one of the most important film releases for Marvel, and we expect that they would pay a lot of attention to its production to ensure that it’s ready on time. On the other hand, if any delays do show up on the horizon, we will probably hear about them soon enough through the various rumor channels. A major production like this is never without its great deal of rumors surrounding it, so information should be plentiful if a problem comes up.
Will we also get to see the real power of Drax the Destroyer? In the first film, we saw him trying to kill Ronan – and failing at it initially – as he was responsible for the death of his wife and daughter. However, he lacked the capability to do that by himself, and that might actually change in the new film, resulting in something quite a bit more interesting on this side of the story.
