OnePlus Two Fingerprint Scanner Faster than Apple’s Touch ID Sensor, Claims OnePlus

Chinese handset manufacturer OnePlus is obviously shaking things up in the global smartphone business. Apart from coming up with an excellent and affordable flagship handset last year with its OnePlus One, the company promises that its upcoming flagship, the OnePlus Two, will be even better.

It is thus no wonder that all eyes and ears are now on the upcoming release of the OnePlus Two, which accordingly, will happen on July 27 in the UK, with a reported price tag of under £300 or less than $465.

However, more than its affordable price, OnePlus Two will reportedly sport several features that are better than those found in more expensive flagship smartphones of other big name handset makers.

In fact, the Chinese manufacturer is now claiming that the fingerprint scanner that it has incorporated as one of the key features of the OnePlus Two is reportedly faster than Apple’s Touch ID feature, reports The Indian Express.

Accordingly, using the OnePlus Two fingerprint scanner can save as much as one hour a week, on the assumption that a user checks his smartphone 200 times a day and each time takes three seconds to input a passcode. OnePlus also said that users can save up to five fingerprint profiles on the OnePlus Two.

Smaller than earlier previewed

There are details circulating in the Reddit web forum that OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus Two will actually come out smaller than it was earlier reported to be.

However, the smartphone will have an upgraded 3,300 mAH battery which should make it lasts longer by 10 percent. Speaking of charging, it will also come with a longer charging cable.

And as previously reported, OnePlus Two will have the company’s own OxygenOS for its operating system instead of the CyanogenOS that was used by the OnePlus One.

The Chinese manufacturer says that using its own OS would enable it to offer better localization and faster updates to its users. In addition, OnePlus said that it would be easier and faster for them to implement changes or modifications based on user feedbacks from the OnePlus community in order to effectively serve its users better.

It also claimed that OxygenOS would be a lot better than CyanogenOS, citing that it may be the epitome of simplicity, but it is extraordinarily powerful too.

Launching in VR

The PC Advisor of UK also reported that OnePlus Two will finally be launched in the UK on July 27 at a price of under £300.

More than the release date and the reported price tag, the OnePlus Two will be the world’s first product that will be launched in VR or virtual reality.

The device will sport an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, a 4GB RAM, a USB Type-C port, and a fingerprint scanner.

There are also reports saying that the Chinese manufacturer is now working on a second model of the OnePlus Two, which could be the OnePlus Mini. Previous reports say that in addition to OnePlus Two, the company will also be releasing the OnePlus One Lite.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor is one of the better processors in the market today and its ability to do multi-tasking while maintaining optimal battery performance remains unparalleled among others in the industry today.

It’s also the same processor that is now being used by the current flagship smartphone of the Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC, the HTC One M9.

There have been reports in the past that despite its splendid performance, the Snapdragon 810 processor actually runs warmer than its predecessors, making overheating an issue. That has actually plagued the HTC One M9 when a recent test among the flagship smartphones, it was proven to be the hottest, temperature-wise, after some time of continued use.
