It’s not as expensive as the flagship smartphones of the big name companies in the market these days including Apple, Samsung, HTC, LG, or Sony, but the Asus ZenFone 2 is currently leading the pack among the more affordable handsets in terms of performance and features.
The Android Central has recently compared the Asus ZenFone 2 with the Alcatel Idol 3 and the Huawei P8 Lite and the verdict went in favor of the current flagship smartphone of the Taiwanese tech company.
While the three different phones offered different experiences, their common denominator is their performance and experiences that are a lot better than their price tags suggest. They are definitely three Android phones that give their respective users more than their money’s worth.
Motorola used to rule the particular segment of the market with its Moto G and Moto E smartphones not too long ago, but the American tech company’s reign has obviously come to an end.
The Latinos Post even reported that the Asus ZenFone 2 was several notches better than the Motorola Droid Turbo, in terms of performance, specifications, and features, although their prices are within the same range from each other. Motorola Droid Turbo is the better version of the first generation Moto G and Moto E mid-range handsets.
A step above
Based on the comparisons with the two different phones in its class, the Asus ZenFone 2 proved to be a step above. It is powered by Intel Atom Z3560 and a 4GB of RAM which enables it to take on just about any app one can throw at it like a champion that it is.
While the Alcatel Idol 3 and the Huawei P8 Lite are also superb when it comes to the hardware department, the Asus ZenFone 2 proved to be the all-around better performer.
The three smartphones actually deliver a pleasant and fairly snappy user experience, often rivalling what users would get from the more expensive flagship smartphones of today, and with their excellent performance versus cost ratios, they really are great buys.
Despite some slight delay when loading and switching between apps, there is no serious slowdown that users will get when they use any of the three handsets. However, it is obvious from the comparisons that the clear winner among the three is the Asus ZenFone 2
Holding its own
When Taiwanese tech company Asus unveiled its ZenFone 2 starting in April this year, it did not make any pretension that it is not looking to challenge the heavyweights in the smartphone business. On the contrary, it has been open in its intention to compete head-on with the big guns in the business by pairing an appealing price on its smartphone with surprisingly great overall performance.
And Asus is not alone in its lofty goal because other smaller smartphone manufacturers have joined the fray as well with lower price points as their main weapons against the flagships handsets from the big market players like Apple, Samsung, HTC, and LG.
The good news for Asus ZenFone 2 fans and users is that it was able to stand toe-to-toe with today’s more expensive flagship smartphones in terms of features and specifications and most notably, performance.
The latest flagship smartphone from Asus actually comes in different variants with a price range that begins at $200 and the high-end model with a retail price of $300. Obviously, the high-end variant is the one which can certainly hold its own against the flagships of the big players because of its faster processor, more storage, and quick charging capability.
For its price that is just roughly 50% of the price tag of the flagship smartphones of the heavyweights in the business, the Asus ZenFone 2 is really a great buy. It’s incredibly fast, reliable, and very satisfying to use.
Smartphone users who put a premium on affordability and performance in choosing their flagship smartphones will surely get their money’s worth on the Asus ZenFone 2.
